Event : Racing vehicle: SV/HV size limit: 5 x 10 x 5 (w x l x h) other limit: have to start with 1 fuel cell and can have one minigun max, start with no ammo. process: Race will start from the start point (obviously).. There will be checkpoint scatter throughout the planet (for HV) or space (for SV), they may contain loot or may be not, some will have turret defending them... after player reach a check post , then he/she can see the next one... HOW TO CONDUCT: admins will spawn the start point (a base) and spawn either active or passive checkpoint with regular interval and with sufficient distance so the next check point can be seen only after reach the previous chk-point..then they have to mannualy populate the loots...once a race track is built it can use for multiple race (some repair may required)...race track must be in PvP field so turrets can damage player and other players can damage player... at the time of race they will collect BPs from the player or give all the same vessel with 1 fuel cell and no ammo..ammo, food , meds , oxy and fuel need to collect from each chk point. player will start the race with empty inventory. BP attached...
I am going from Intel Xeon e7440s to x7460s. Adding 8 additional cores overall and higher GHz. Not a HUGE improvement, but it is the best available for the equipment compatibility-wise.
Excellent contribution! I've downloaded it, but I realized that RPEV1 (the Event planet) is covered in Aliens... so that makes it a bit more of a challenge If I can place them properly, it'll be a challenge for the racers, and not the designers hopefully Anyway I'll get started on that soon though Regardless, in RPEV1 Orbit, I have set up the first iteration of a Space Race Track! It only has one turn that I would consider tricky (hint: if there are two checkpoints very near each other, angle to go through both of them without having to turn again ) and there is one stretch where you go within firing range of an active POI, but if you're quick enough you shouldn't have to worry about it As far as the rest of it, it's simple: the checkpoints are numbered, just go through them in order as quickly as possible! So if you're interested, meet me on the server and we'll get it going somehow! By the way, the checkpoints are actually fully-functioning CVs, and as such, the course can be adjusted quickly and easily to make it harder, easier, or just a different course altogether! Oh, here's a few pictures: Dock and Lounge (public BA) next to the Start/Finish line Also, to clarify, RPEV1 is only accessible by admins at the moment, so if you want to go, find one of us Currently it would be myself, MechPilot524, and WarMachine who can take you there
To add onto my last post: The planetary racecourse is now set up as well! Since Navi wanted PvP elements to be at play, I chose Ulm to make the race. Will post pics and further info shortly. By the way, my initial lap time was 3:51 Update: Soo due to a strange and previously unknown bug, my structures, which I had not yet set to public, are no longer accessible to me. So, you can still go through the checkpoints, but until I figure out how to fix this we can't add loot or stock the turrets or even refill the fuel (which I had filled on all of them already). As a consolation prize, here are some screenshots:
Reminds me of the racetrack in freelancer. Thought it would be cool if you setup some of the rings with turrets as well. If we were doing more than one lap then on the final lap all the guns could be turned on for the last so many. Just a thought.
You think we should have a RPEV2 planet but as a PvE one instead, so if we don't want to be at each others throats during the run we can have that instead?
Actually, most often I would be using the Spare Parts after the battle for Field Repairs, if I have not outright lost it. My Lessons learned: I thought my War Tank was outright huge, but turns out it was actually a Dwarf Tank. The Protection for the Fuel Tanks was inadequate. The Cockpit is a Critical Strike zone for Enemy Artillery Turrets. Seems like Tank Battles will never be real long if ya can't keep moving at all times & do your damn best to never let the Enemy Artillery Turrets hit that Cockpit of yours. Burying the Cockpit under Armor & denying yourself the FPS Experience does not guarantee tactical superiority. My 2 Gatling Guns did little of use in the battle... (Yet I still feel I don't wanna be without them & risk having too little Anti-Personnel Defense.) 2 Artillery Turrets were better then 1. I was right to have 2 Passenger Seats in my Design in case I can ever have other peeps sit in them to Pilot Turrets. I kinda sorta mighta misjudged how much Fuel & Ammo Sustain my Tank might really need... yet I dunno if i'll be able to change my ways on this one... Real Combat may yet find this still worth having outside Gladiatorial Combat. I'd like to make a Design that'd be good at both Gladiatorial Combat & Field Duty if I can find a way to. Getting Workshop BPs to Update to Latest Revision is a hell of a pain in the ass. It's funny as hell to see my opponent forget to set his Turrets to not attack predators & be able to Epic Minigun down his Weapons while the Enemy's Turrets are wasting their time swatting irrelevant Monsters. Once I manage to regain L20 & get a new Rocket Launcher T2 & Rockets to go with it Re-Built, might be interesting to see how much or little effect a Rocket Launcher can have on a Tank. No sweat. Slam's Tank was laughably slow too & my Tank was runnin circles around his but he still kicked my ass 2 times for a easy 2 outta 3 win. I've never been any good at Racing, but I imagine this could be fun for the more Civilian among ya. I'll stick with Tanks. Figures. Turns out there was a mix up & it was next Weekend my fav Aunt & Uncle are gonna visit... but i'm still screwed in regards to RvB Play Availability anyway cause Dad is still here for the Weekend. :/ On the bright side, i'm working on my RvB Server SV. It's now part done. Hope this one turns out better then my last try.
A Blue Nova Syndicate ship has gone missing: hull classification HCP-01, named "Beserker". Last seen docked near the BNS shipyard in Azurus Orbit. The ship is very long in proportion to its width and height, and it's covered in guns. Tyrax will recognize it as the biggest ship he's seen performing crazy amounts of cartwheels and barrel rolls in an atmosphere with (Yes, I was feeling particularly charitable one day, so I gave GMT an airshow). If you find it, provide us with its location. Once the ship is recovered you will receive a reward.
A new warship you say? I'm certainly interested in seeing it, even if it means returning it to you, simply to know what BNS has been up to. Been a while since we've battled directly...
It's curious that only ships of BNS get destroyed and missing..then they accuse someone and attack them... who is your target now BNS??
Hey everyone! The maintenance was completed successfully!!!! Please feel free to hop on and get back to playing! Cheers! -Methodik
