Currrent capital ships I'm working on for HWS server. Eon Jumper is for large volume freight transportation, Drake BioCruiser is a biodome ship, Phase Trader is for selling stuff to other players:
Yay, my first time CV build is ready, now waiting for 8.39 hours so i can have it spawn. Presenting the Dark Blade : So now i want to ask u guys a question or 2 . Only have seen 2 CV's to walk around in, the starter CV and one called Deadelus my buddy spawned in borrowed from the workshop. I've noticed both are made with normal steel. Found this surprising why it wasn't made with hardened steel. I suppose its got to do with the weight and power consumption ?? Well, i build mine with hardened steel as its outer hull and total weight was about 14 kT. Stuck 24 generators in it and at full speed power consumption is 50 % . Is that still to much ??? I'm learning here as i go, don't use pre-thought out concepts so i build kinda like it comes on the moment. So to the pro's out there, any good tips on what to recon with ? Many thanks for any respons. From the heart, Bigfeet.
Pretty ship. Did you build this one in creative? Cause as it stands i believe that Ships don't eat power packs in creative. So with hardened steel and those huge thrusters (especially in a planets atmosphere) they pretty much eat through powerpacks pretty quick. So unless you don't have hundreds of fuel tanks with thousands of large promethium packs you might not get to far or even fall out of the skies with your ship in survival. But maybe i am wrong and your ship will do just fine. I just wanted to mention that, just in case
Thanks man. Well , i build it in creative yeah , kinda figured that's what it is for, right To be honest, i wasn't ever gonna bring it to the surface . That's why no landing gear has bin build on it. The idea was it to function as a mothership like and to only bring it in orbit. I'm not familiar with what kinda dangers that possibly lurks 'out there', and if i look what other ppl are building i never even thought they would produce it in a lesser quality material (as in outer hull wise) . After building a base , HV , SV with hardened steel it only seemed natural. Wood ? Never even touched the stuff haha.
Vehicles do consume Fuel in Creative, so ya can get an idea of Fuel Consumption Rates. Ya can even fly your CVs in & out of Akua to test CV Builds's ability to fly in Planets & if they can defy its Gravity. What's special about Creative is ya can use the H Menu to give yourself all the Large Promethium Fuel Packs ya could ever want. (Can also give yourself lots of Hydrogen Fuel Packs & test the Fuel Efficiency of your HVs.)
See i have never touched Creative that far. All my creations flew with what they came. But i am to much involved in survival as to build up the real big ships. But that is even better, so i can build and try out the CV i had in mind if that works for exploration and long range mining operations. I just hope i don't have to wait 9 hours for it to be build in the factory in survival @Bigfeet well it all comes down to what you prefer. My plan is to encase most important things and most fragile things (core, fuel tanks etc) with shields of hardened steel. But the outer hull will be normal steel blocks. Just to make it as efficient as possible. The idea is a CV that is capable of landing and taking off a planets surface and serving as a mobile base. Military grade ships are not really my style. It all depends on what you want from your ship.
Just finished a new capital. Star Trek Nova Class CV 1 to 1 scale! I have lots of other creations as well feel free to check them out! ^_^
(RE)Redesign of the Truar'oth - The version that Tina P redesigned The Truar'oth lost it's hangar bay in the redesign by TP, I didn't mind course I really fell in love with the changes she made.. BUT! I always need to take at least 1 or 2 SV's with me, so I decided to make a REredeign - but since I always get a gazillion ideas when building - I ended up with 2 designs. I'm still not completely finished but I'm posting them to get opinions since I can't really decide myself which looks best - or if both designs destroy the ship. Ship 1: Ship 2: original ship: 25 x 50 x 12 ship 1: 21 x 50 x 13 ship 2: 23 x 50 x 12 so aprox. the same size
The second one lends to its design better I think. While the first one makes me think about what happened to the back sides, they look a bit odd. However the backend of design 1 looks pretty cool in an odd way I cannot explain.
First discovery of a derelict unknown vessel, in a series of vessels and eventually a base I expect to find while exploring further in this part of space...
I vote Ship 2 as the better one. Ship One looks less... well... completed, especially in the back. Plus with Design 2 if need be ya might be able to stick a couple more Thrusters back there for goin forward if need be.
the original's got 2 normal thrusters and 4 directional thrusters at the back. ship 2 got 3 normal thrusters, so forward thrust should be almost equal but haven't checked yet. what looks less completed in the back of ship 1? (just to help me see it, course something is deff. wrong) something tells me I might end up making a 4'th design of this redesign...... as I'm not 100% satisfied with either designs... *sigh*
All the jagged angles in the back of Design 1 just somehow make it look as if it's only partway through getting built for some reason... like the kinda thing ya'd fly up to on a Ship under construction in Creative Mode.
I think its the texturing that affects it the most. It looks....... in-construction. Not as smooth and polished as the rest of the ship.
Second discovery made of the new unknown alien race. This ship is a much large class of vessel than previously discovered! Still not a carrier class vessel... so exploration continues.
Latest range since I couldn't let a new cockpit come out without doing a little designing... Left to right - F-66 Corsair Interceptor, F-62 Raider Light Scout, TSP-AS-06 Shuttle 'Scallywag'
