Ok Let SPECULATE shall we. But by no means shall we speculate about speculation, speculatively speaking.
I thought I was going to be in the ship design and testing division of the corp... I had just said I'm not good with the aesthetics but I can make quite functional and efficient ships. So if no one else volunteers for that I can do ship designs in the beginning.
That looks awesome, but I would center the text because now after you moved the image from the other side (which had been balancing it) to be centered the text on the left is now weighting the whole image to that side... If you moved the text to the center of the phoenix image and gave the text a border so it is still easy to read, I think it would look much more like the professional logos you see today(and in the future...).
You could have a server that is still protected but doesn't require being part of the guild. You just set up a website where people have to register first. And then you could also do it on an invite basis like was previously mentioned. The only thing I would suggest be different would be that instead of the person who invited the griefer being banned too (sometimes your friends aren't who they seem...) you ban all the people the griefer invited so if they invite any of their friend those people would be on his case about it and hopefully it would be more than one person, as it would be with the other method. I realize though that often griefers just go making multiple accounts, but if that is the case you can make sure the person who invited them is notified not to invite the person again after they're banned...
Nah I prefer the Join the group and wait to be accepted method, Then if you grief the host can and should shame you on the forums, if you do it on an invite method as you suggest then you cannot shame the griefer without shaming the invitee also and as you said sometimes you don't really know your friends, With the join group method it is entirely on the joinees own doing if they get shamed because of griefing as they and noone else asked to join the server and then did the griefing. Closed servers are safer and more friendly and less likely to get mass griefed.
Ah, I finally reached the end of all this stuff I missed... Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've had a lot of double shifts at work and I'm still behind in homework for my favorite class (I should probably be doing that right now...) I should be on a little more now. BTW if I can think of a good reason for being late, I'll join the RP thread...
It would still be a closed server, just you would assume anyone that the griefer invites isn't trustworthy either but won't like it when they get banned too so you'd have gotten rid of a bunch of griefers and caused a commotion among them that will result in incapacitating the entire community of griefers and give them a lasting distaste for greifing our server...
Well either way. If you want to join the RP thread its easy, we all kind of arrived at different times in different ways, We need to find water, and Magelon/Greg crash landed near water, You could come down in an escape pod and land in the water, your ship having been obliterated in the upper atmosphere due to too steep an incoming trajectory or something, Brokens ship was destroyed he arrived via escape pod too, I arrived in the Helios )see the Empyrion back story) but its in alot of peices most of which are completel;y useless and just good for steel maybe because they are just totally burnt out sections, OZ lost most of his ship in orbit but his ftl and maybe a thruster or two is still up there slowly falling into the planets atmosphere, and Magelon/Greg is hiding in his cryopod near what is left of his ship after crash landing. So as I said you could fall from the sky in your escape pod and land in the water and get out and make your way to where Gregs crashsite is, Broken, Oz and I will be heading there probably tomorrow in a hover vehicle packed with whatever components we can salvage, we will meet at your Lake/river/crashsite area shortly. Come join the fun... Date it around 04/06/2473 13:11 thats a little after our latest posts meaning we wont have to rewrite to add in seeing your flaming pod falling from the sky, but can write something like that after your joining post LOL.... When did it get so complicated to run a RP thread LOL...
I really want this to turn into something big, so I want a recruitment method that can vector out. The idea of banning all invitees of a greifer is a good one, maybe instead of banning the person who invited the griefer, we just take away their ability to invite anyone else. That way the greifer, any of his buddies, and the fool that invited him are taken care of, without endangering the fool's account.
I'm sorta part of another clan but I'd like the ability to play with you guys to. The server you guys are talking about seems impressively awesome. I normally just go to a random planet and build a massive space/land station. I can RP when needed also...
I enjoy building and designing functional bases. They don't usually look pretty but there highly defensible and functioning. I also enjoy building drop ships/shuttles/fighters. I don't really build any super large ships. It's a little to time consuming and I don't have a good enough computer for most massive space battles so it's not worth it.
My good sir, considering the fact that I am in dire need of a clan and this thread seems to be the most active I would like to apply for a position, if you are still hiring. I might not be the most active player (definitely once a week minimum), I feel I still might be able to contribute something to your corporation. I would just like to inquire as to how it shall be run other than you yourself being CEO of course (squad leaders/ regional leaders etc.) I would just like to know where I must post my resume if needed.
