Don't ya think trying to maintain Power Levels on a Large CV with enough Fuel is impossible enough as is or do ya want it even more impossible for Large CVs? They all registered their own boom individually. I saw the individual booms & smoke from them register on the side of a Dummy CV with a big enough width to test with during the experiment, so I assume they'd also register their own individual damage number on each individual Block they hit. Also further experimenting I suddenly realized something was wrong with my Manual Fire Weapon Systems I was Installing & Testing. It's not looking like in addition to a maximum of 21 Shots from 1 Manual Weapon Type being possible max, the Ship also can't acknowledge the existence of more then 22 Manual Fire Weapons TOTAL among ALL Species of them. As I added more Total Manual Fire Weapons, some prior Installed ones would lose the ability to get Reloaded & be able to fire! This will force me to scale back my Manual Fire Weapon plans on my current CV Build. I also dunno if this is also affecting Turrets under AI Control as well & if having enough Manual Fire Weapons makes the Turrets unable to load & operate as well...
Ok. @MechPilot524 and I were wondering if the placement of the weapons would change the resulting damage to the blocks as well. Case in point. Would the damage be more spread out if all starting points of the projectile were in line (Think wall of rockets)? More of a wide area effect. or If the weapons were placed in a spire formation would they do more damage and "drill" through a ship?
Not sure the effectiveness, but I usually tier my forward guns... like if there's 7 total, I'd have 2 at the front, 2 of them 1 block further back, and then a line with the last 3 in the middle, 1 block even further back. Theoretically, if the blocks are destroyed by the first tier (and disappear in time) then (in theory) the next tier would hit the blocks behind them, basically "drilling" as you said. I make most of my vessels that have forward guns in this fashion, but I'm honestly not sure how effective it really is.
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this. The whole "drilling" idea came to me the other night when I had an idea for....something.... I figured I would ask around and maybe one of you old folks (relative to game-play) would know something
This unfortunately, I can't test in Creative Mode. Though based on past PvP experience I recommend not trying to 'Spire Formation Drill' enemies as it can be a job in & of itself even trying to land the hits at all... I do NOT recommend relying on a Combat Tactic that would require the enemy to foolishly hold still & absorb all the damage ya wanna offer them willingly. I wasn't talking about Micro-CVs.
well my day was pretty productive. We play on a full pvp server so there is alot of action. also a lot of base's that are designed to kill people that wander in the wrong area.( like we did ) afther seeing this base we decided to remove it cause it was a pain in the ass. we digged a 200 m tunnel to the base to attack it from underground.( cause it had over 20 plasma turrets on the surface and there was no way we could attack from above.) was quite fun. before you feel bad for the guy. this was a small base that was designed to kill everything in a 500 m radius. we scavenged everthing therer was in it helped us out a lot. Peace
Heheh if that dude REALLY wanted his Base to say "Don't mess with me!" the dude should NOT have placed the Base somewhere that woulda got in other people's way & crossed them... that's a good way to get yourself Aggro'd.
My day was interesting. I ran out of ammo for my guns, FINALLY figured out why my turret wouldn't fire (I was using the wrong ammo) and wound up getting chased around the map twice trying to carry back magnesium by pretty much a dozen mixed drones, dying dozens of times. Then I learned about running, how to kill drones from underneath their turret arc, and why you don't attack the drone Depot with nothing but an assault rifle. Then I learned several times how NOT to design an HV, and I learned that pretty much every strategy guide is now basically useless because of how much the game has changed. I also learned that the only HV that can reasonably go up a mountain looks vaguely like the kind of camper you put on the back of a pickup truck, and that even cleaning out the wreckage doesn't net you enough materials to build a big enough gun to take out the drone base. Now I look forward to learning how to blow up a CV. My own.
I have finally finished my second capital vessel and my first since alpha. I really like the new shapes and og my god this perfectly sweet building system. It makes building so much easier. Who was the one you came with that drone idea? That is god send. Okay anybody played Elite Dangerous some time? I did and I was really sad that I would never ever fly that hundreds million worth ANACONDA. The original Ship Design from ELite is truly awesome. 150m long and 64 wide with a nice shaped hangar where you can park your hover and ship. Sleek look but still it has seroius punch. So i tried my best to keep the design as near the original but with only two different angled slope blocks it was kinda tricky.
Bought Elite Dangerous awhile ago. But need to get a good joystick. Don't think Empyrion will use a joystick ever. Else I would have it now.
I ate Anacondas fer breakfast lunch n dinner. Actually they paid for the breakfast lunch n dinner too... tons of bounty for those guys. .... Yes I was a vulture pilot ... sue me.
Yeah I was also piloting the vulture but never made it higher than that because of the abnormally grind you had to go through to get yourself beasties like python and anaconda. I only killed npc Condas a good pilot just had too many shield rechargers. Actually the Vulture seemd to be a bit op for the price. I most def will build the Vulture also but having already made the Sidewinder i dont know what that would be good for. @Mr. Badger I only have to finish some parts of the interior and its good to publish
Since the Red/Blue server was down for upgrades I started a new SP player game (again ). Started on Akua and right away found most all resources other than Manganese. Which made use my bullets sparingly. This time around I decided to build on the highest peak I could see from my crash site with water in view. Working with SI on is a real challenge. Parking a HV was also a big challenge to keep the drones away from it. After a few in game days the wild life all but disappeared. Which presented another great challenge. Terets don't shoot down hill very well at all so most drone attacks had to be taken out with my assault rifle. Would I build again on a mountain peaks NOPE.
nothing still cant connect to the official public test server but even if i could still nothing cause my base and cv vanished did report it but getting nothing but static from devs admins support ect
Considering the vulture is the UGLIEST SHIP IN THE UNIVERSE ... I would suggest you NOT try to make it in EGS LOL!!! And yes, it is OP with the right build out... but I like agile small ships with just 1 or two overpowered weapons. Back in SWG I flew a tricked out ETA-Actis with one giant reverse engineered nose cannon that allowed me to take down corvettes in a few minutes.
