Back when the Wolfworx Mining Consortium decided to offer their inhouse designed and developed BSS-1000SV (Affectionately known as The Bus) for sale, they had no idea how popular this mid size ship would become. Designed primarily as a versatile cargo / personnel carrier this is not the ship for launching attacks on weaponised ground targets. (Its size makes it an easy target) It is, however, supplied standard with weaponry that will deal with a few pesky drones. Pilots love it for its decent, well balanced handling and a generous cockpit with "between the knees" viewing of the ground below them, which makes landing and maneuvering the BSS-1000SV a snap. This is the "B" revision model. It has received significant updates particularly with regards to heavy armor plating in certain key areas, most notably the floor and walls around the fuel tanks as well as internal layout of components. (This following an unfortunate incident in which a Wolfworx Consortium pilot lost his life when a rocket penetrated the floor, and exploded the fuel tanks which where positioned directly aft of the cockpit) In standard trim your BSS-1000SV-B comes with the following equipment installed: 1. 1,8MW generator that has 55% spare capacity whilst under heavy load. 2. Dual fuel tanks for long range hauling. 3. Small Constructor 4. Dual ammunition containers 5. Dual pulse lasers 6. Dual RCS' for responsive handling 7. Dual oxygen tanks 8. One oxygen set 9. Four internal passenger seats. 10. Three Small fridges. 11. Three Storage containers. But the real beauty of the BSS-1000SV-B is this ... Prefer rockets to lasers ? No problem, the sturdy side pods will accommodate that with ease. Need more storage and less passengers ? Simply remove the seats and install storage. This is a powerful, versatile and configurable vessel that you need !
Ok so my ships are not as incredibly good as those posted in here, but I decided to share mine. My first ever creation, a small HV (nameless so far), handles pretty good, well armored and fairly compact. This HV helped me explore a lot of my starter planet (Omicron) and I will probably keep it as soon as I build a CV. has everything a HV can have, very good for long explorations. Can be easily adapted for double miniguns. My first ever SV (also lacking a name), has everything possible for a SV, handles pretty well (2 RCS), well armored (everything is acessible only inside the ship, though a hole in the hull underneath) and has 4x rocket launchers / 2x gatling guns. Took me a few of hours to design, build and paint (specially because I ran out of steel blocks twice, lol ). Of course not good looking as all of the ships here, but I like it and was a lot of fun to build (I kept losing track of time, lol)
Ha, you should see some of the first ones I ever made in games like this... Yours would win beauty contests compared to them, they were shocking when I look back on it! It's a good start, there's some nice design ideas in those two. Keep sharing EDIT: I found out some old screenies for your amusement: The very first "SV" type craft I ever made in a game: What a difference six months and a few mods make to the original design on the right: Apologies to the mods that these aren't from Empyrion, I can change them to links if that's more acceptable but they're just for demonstration purposes! I love Empyrion more I swear!
Not quite ready for release yet but this is my latest "I should be in bed but I'll design a ship instead" creation: The Hornet.
I've completed the last planned tweak on my Tyrax Dragonet class SV, tweaking the location of her Spare Parts Boxes a tad, & am now considering her a 110% complete Build! ^_^ Spoiler: My Warrior SV!!! >:D Front View: Right Side View: Rear View: Left Side View: Top View: Bottom View: Inside Cockpit firing a Volley:
Yup, scarily enough that's what it took to give my bud enough Thrust for maneuverability... yep people keep swearing I need more Thrusters on it on top of that.
You have issues with my rocket placement, I have issues with your thruster placement I guess I spent too long playing The Game That Shall Not Be Named to be comfortable with lateral thrusters that will probably blow the ship up when/if they add thruster damage It's a nice shape though! Well thought out. I'd like to "like" Badgers comment twice just for making me genuinely laugh but it won't let me
To be fair this Model probably won't get to last forever, but nothing will in Alpha. How many Thrusters I had to stick on her to get her bulk maneuverable does feel a bit obscene, though surprisingly i've lost very few Thrusters... it seems to always be my Cockpit Death that seems to end me. (Current number of Defeats: 2... both to CVs.) Far down the road there will surely come a time when i'll feel the need to experiment with SV Design again, so i'm sure there will be a new Design Strategy i'll try out someday. For now though, my CV's almost done, then it'll be time for me to make my next try at a Hover War Tank & see if I can do better next go, then the Updated Flying Fist SV that'll also double as a Rocket Launcher Bomber Ship try after getting inspired by other people's tries at that.
Yeah I've had so many designs become obsolete in That Other Game as updates have happened, but it's fun to revisit them and update your favourites. Plus the updates usually mean you can make them even better!
It's the cool NEW stuff ya can do after an Update that can enable ya to Rebuild with gusto & not miss the old stuff that's obsolete now... though old stuff that did real well for their time can still make for good Memories.
My newest, my ... precious. Named : Muahahahahaaaaaaaah !!! Equiped with a battery of pulse lasers and plasma canons, a cresent shape and some attitude. Inspired by newer Battlestar Galactica series Ceylon style (sort of) and a name that stuck with me somewhere during some episodes. I quit enjoy it.
Last night I got the idea for a CV ship that would be kinda my in space go to base. I wanted something sleek and not too squareish.. so I thought of my favorite tv show Stargate, And I was ofc inspired by the Goa'uld pyramid ships. So i gave it a shot Now I just need to come up with a paint job Any suggestions?
I'm a fan of the Stargate Series! It's always seemed to me like the Goa'uld (I'd always wondered how this was spelled...) tended to like Yellows... but been awhile so not totally sure on this.
Awseome idea I just looked at some images of their ship and I was thinking of doing it in those colors I would also like, at some point, to add an extra layer of tiles to make the "armor" look of the original ship
