Looks really nice. I build one before Alpha. But was put off with the lack of any good lighting to use it to build ships.
Naf build some very interresting ship or base, i hope that one day we can see one of his build integrated to the game ! Like yours Big_red !
Have they disabled the collision detection for BAs and CVs? The last time I tried to build something like this, the CV would stop dead at the BA "edge".
Been that way for some time. Before Alpha. CV to CV now that's a different story. They used to repeal.
Nice. What about fully enclosed BAs? I should test my giant hull again. First, to see if it will actually spawn without breaking in half (which is an improvemnet over pre-alpha, it used to just crash the game, and it's not outside the upper size limits) and then to see if I can park a small CV in it (for reference, the Rifter SV fits through the docking/entry port easily)
And the answer is Yes! a CV can now enter a fully enclosed BA And yes, sadly, yes, the game still splits my hull when spawning it (that's upside down, it's the basic station without any direction markers, so the separate bit should be the top section)
Found some time to play, seems to be getting rarer these days... Built a base. I also had to gun down spiders at night while out mining, and ran out of ammo. That was not a pleasant experience.
In my new Games, I ALWAYS prioritize Magnesium above all & even Promethium is 2nd place. If ya run outta Combat Power ya run outta ability to survive, thus are effectively Game Over'd imho. (I've said it before & i'll say it again, it'd rock if our Characters could have Melee Weapons that don't need Ammo &/or practice Martial Arts, especially Kung Fu!)
I wrote a bug report and now I'm trying to summarize all the info on custom playfields and all this custom mumbo jumbo...
I had plenty of magnesium back home, I just didn't bring enough bullets to fight a freaking hoarde of spawns that happened to be right between me and the ore I needed...
Oh... why didn't ya just retreat back to Base then? Ya can Sprint away from bout everything dangerous short of repeated Troop Transport Assaults. Edit: Doh! Meant to also respond to the Topic itself too... My visit with my Relatives ended & Dad finally had to resume his Work Schedule so this morning I FINALLY got to resume play on the Red vs Blue Server. Damn I had missed it... only managed to get on for a bit in the morning thus far, but major stuff done on there was to finish off a Magnesium Vein, a Zascosium Vein, & a Erestrum Vein. Also did a bit of GMT HQ Maintenance including but not limited to getting her Fuel Tanks filled back up & such.
Did this the other day. No ones around any more. Have to sit out till the next update or bug repair. See if there is anything worth playing for.
It seems like they spawned when the sun went down (I.e. while I was mining far from home). Or maybe it was fopish luck and I skirted all the spawns in broad daylight only to plunge headlong through every one of them at night. I ran out of stamina, but I had only lured a couple spawns to gang up on me, so I ran myself out of AR ammo I had intended to save for a POI, then I wasted a lot of pistol ammo because it didn't have a flashlight and I couldn't see the creepy crawls well enough to aim, but.... spiders, I was in a panic. I hate spiders. And then I realized I was out of pistol ammo too, so.... I got repeatedly bitten on the way home and only survived because I had a huge stash of small medkits. No antidotes, I haven't been able to locate any alien thorn yet.
New to this game 36 hrs ! Pretty badly designed base just for the fun to explore the solar system . Flew to Akua Moon and raided three ghost rider bases with one being my makeshift base , next would be mining sathium just enough for BP Astro CV in workshop . For now , i am unsure where to proceed on for resources
If you are on the moon mine some neodymium it comes in useful. And grab up blue crystals as well. You will need them
I think i drilled all that neodymium that moon have , may need to check back later . Blue crystals ? Pentaix ? O_O
Yep blue crystals are made into pentatix that is your fuels your warp drive. They grow in good numbers all over the moon
