    Is there a way you could capture this usage? And at the same time show all connected players. Im just curious.

    If you dont have the reserves, there will be a slight delay/pause when a player enters a new playfield which is probably not a big deal?

    I have a couple questions. Im a server owner:

    How do i open multiple server exes. I read somewhere to rename the .cmd file and the .yaml file for each instance, So i have a Creative World im trying to open to public, It is set on its own port, with its own .yaml file
    Currently i cant get it to stay open, While my dedicated is opened the second .cmd file simply closes after about 5 seconds.

    Secondly. Is there a way to identify areas in a world. We have an iron node that partially spawned under bedrock, I need to figure out how to delete that specific area for regen purposes.

    i still have big problems on my server. i made more plnets and if a player enter a new orbit the server is getting lag and there are about 15 empyrion.exe running (taskmanager). and there was only 2 player on the server.
    This is driving me crazy now...

    on second big problem is when i enter a orbit of a new custum made planet i lose the connection to the server and there is only a empty folder of the planet in the savegame folder ?!

    Why is it opening 15 instances ?
    Is there an error in a yaml file somewhere maybe ?
    How many reserve playfield is it set for ?

    Empty play folder sounds like an address to the file is wrong maybe.

    If you run the server with no mods to yaml files at all, everything default, does it still open 15 odd instances ?

    We tracked a bug down a few months ago that opened 20 odd instances at a time up, but the devs smashed that one, so unless its popping its head back up here theres likely an error in one of your yaml files.

    Not entirely sure what you mean but in the dedicated yaml file theres a 'set reserver play fields' line you set that number to how many reserver playfields you want always running, for servers with under 5 people you dont need any extra playfields running, for servers with 10 or more it good to have 2 or 3 always running.
    If you have a super computer like if you own IBM or something LOL, you could just run every instance all the time ! Crunch them numbers !

    For those of you having issues with this game on large dedicated servers with multiple cpu configurations. I run the backend on the sins of solar server. Our current cpu usage hovers around 60% spread out on 28 cores over two cpus. This is made possible by running a program called "Process Lasso". This program changes the "Affinity" And the "priority" of each of the empyrion.exe processes when they spike to 100% usage. We have found that as soon as the offending exe is set to below normal priority it returns to a normal level and the program releases that process back to normal. This allows us to have close to 30 playing fields open regularly at the expense of some of the playing fields "lagging" from time to time with huge ships.     I have searched everywhere and cannot figure out how to see who is on my server. Can someone please tell me how to do that?

    Press the 'B' key while in game.

    Otherwise as far as i know, the only other way is to have a look inside the "Players" folder in your save game folder.

    There is no listed console command to list all players that I am aware of

    If you start the server with the command window, the blue window opens basically, as players join they are listed on the blue screen. This is only on the server host machine.
    Ingame like above said you press B.
    Unless your a server admin, then you have extra controls and can do more, like identify a players steam ID and boot or ban them etc.

    So I cannot for the life of me seem to get mp working. I cannot see a server list.

    Refresh of course, disable firewall, eac is on, Tried roggles fix to help someone else on the last page with flushing my dns. I am at a loss.

    In steam in the top left click Steam, go to Settings, in settings open the in game tab. at the bottom there is "In Game browser max pings/Sec" Lower that number to 1000, or 500. and try again. Let me know if that fixes anything. :)

    I think he wants to run two servers side by side. One server creative one survival. Im not sure why it would close one. But yes as far as i know you should just be able to set individual dedi yaml files and run them side by side on different ports. Although it might make more since to give them each their own folder. Kinda sucks you need almost 99% of all the game files to run a server though.

    Heh, it was worth a shot.. Alright. Well lets get this FIGURED out! Lets start with, What os are you running? List of antivirus and firewalling softwares (windows built in ones don't need included). I see you have already tried the DNS flush. If I knew the master server IP i would have you ping test it to make sure its reachable..... BUTTTTT i dont.

    Edit: No luck on finding where that server list comes from. But I can tell you Empyrion identifies its connection to the internet as a system process for some reason and uses the ports 60881-60885 to check for servers.

    Edit2: upon second inspection i see it used ports 59045-59052. Must be random range around the 60k area? If this is true surely as long as your firewall is allowing the connection they are not being blocked elsewhere.

    Windows 7 64bit pro. Yeah, that would make it a little easier to ping them. Firewall is off atm.

    Servers come from the valve trackers, which tend to blast a huge range of IP's and ports at server launch, then settles on one to ping with (the server tells its name and location to valve, who in turn tell it to the world).

    But... thats kind of useless info because you are not trying to RUN a server, you are trying to FIND them! LOL. hmmmmm.

    It sounds like your game is not getting the server ip for the valve lookup server. No idea why as a firewall shouldn't really block you trying to connect to something. It just likes to block things coming in to connect to you. Plus you said you turned the firewall off. So that leaves valves servers not responding to you, OR the game not understanding what its getting from valve.

    Have you tried a verify of local game cache yet? Worth a shot, might not work. And, you ARE still signed into Steam while playing the game? You can see the community area, the friends activity page, and friends list is active?

    I did a reinstall last night, I just now verified cache, and although it seems no effect. I had my system set to JA local and I set it back to USA. (Jap only games) nothing is changing. 0/0 servers

    This is correct. But I did manage to find the steam protocol info the game uses. Valves Dev info is confusing though. https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Server_Queries
    Looks like it uses the standard Source protocol.


    Ok. But firewall is windows firewall? Because if that was on there still shouldn't be a problem. But I can say that back in the day firewalls such as Zonealarm? would block all sorts of **** even while off! Anyways if the firewall is truly not the issue here. And steam doesn't appear to be one (other games work) Then Im out of ideas unless your having some kind of strange NAT issue in your router.

    Good idea. If he has any game that uses steam's server trackers, see if they work. TF2 is one, DOTA, L4D's...
