as a small workaround I just build support till the door is where I want it then break the support. I am loving the hangar doors! Today I decided to go for a morning jog to the local asteroid belt.
I have built a secret GMT SV Project in Creative Mode yesterday, then this morning double checked it, decided it could use a few more RCSs & stuck them in, then decided it's good enough & will eventually build one & try it out on the RvB Server after it gets its next Wipe & Restart. It's a total Mad Empyrion Science Experiment... it has yet to be seen if it'll revolutionize SV Combat, or just cause total hilarity to ensue. Then I built a big Space Base that's just a single block depth very long & wide bunch of Blocks with a row of all sizes of Hangar Door lined up in a row then below that the same except for Double Door Formation of them, with their Dimensions Symboled above & below each Door, for use in SV Clearance Testing in the future. Then I got started on my next CV seeing if I could make anything better then the Tyrax Dragon Transport, that failed miserably. Lastly, on my way outta the game, I Maintenanced my Creative Mode Backup Saves & Deleted them, deciding all still looked well in my Creative Game & I wouldn't need them... then had a 'still not awake yet after 3 damn cups of Coffee' Accident & accidentally Deleted the Creative Save Game itself... :'( I'm gonna hate my own guts for days now...
Working on an impractically large space station built out of combat blocks. Also working on a prefab base with all the gubbinz. Also restarted single player (again) and working through all the alien bases.
About a month ago i find this nice Blueprint in the workshop: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=629178363 And I think: "This blueprint must be finished!" So I contacted Movius and asked whether he lets me rework it. And yesterday he gives me his permission. \o/ Hurray! A beautiful design, would be a shame, to let it unfinished. Today I repair a D7 Cruiser:
Wondered around my home planet cursing the complete lack of sprouts to use in my grow plots, pondered on why there seem to be no drones (none, zero, nada) since I took out the Xenu powerplant and completed this sweet ride... (apart from detailing and texturing)
Felt a bit like the Orcs in the Battle of the Five Armies as I dug a tunnel through a mountain to get below the Epsilon Drone Base and blow up its core. Thank God (or the devs) for the tier two drill. My first drilling endeavour, where I dug myself from 450 meters away under an Epsilon ComCenter with a tier one drill took ages...
Worked on cutting down all of the trees that spawned on my huge landing pad on Omicron - the trees pushed my CV's into the lake... time to move to a space station
Im a sucker for anything star trek. Make sure to put that on the workshop when done I have a few tips for fast drilling that might help. (Digging under bases ftw) Drill from 3rd person if you have not figure out. It gives way better range. Secondly if you unlock the camera and zoom in or out it adjusts the range of your drill. Zoom out drill farther, zoom in drill closer. After all that just point cross hairs. This even works on the mechanical drill as well.
It was the "This even works on the mechanical drill as well." part that raised my Eyebrows. I'm rather certain its Max Range is supposed to be 3 Meters tops & is NEVER supposed to be longer then that.
I definetly cleared out a 600 iron ore ball from dead center without moving by mechanical drill yesterday.
Maybe it's the difficulty settings? In my game I've also had no roaming drones since I landed on Omicron, just the "welcoming committee" visiting my base. Come to think about it, the troop transport hasn't come either and I've took down a number of POIs.
Thanks for the tip, Necra So, I built my first SV today and paid a visit to the orbit and moon of Akua. There was an active but deserted space station, whose turrets did not last long, but did not yield any interesting loot. (I decided not to destroy its core or deconstruct anything, for I might simply return with my own core to take it over.) Then I flew to the moon and had just started exploring it, when I noticed some structure in the distance. However, said structure started firing plasma shells at me like no tomorrow before I could even get in range to be notified what it actually was, let alone launch any meaningful attack. Are these turrets supposed to be so strong? Their range and rate of fire seems a bit odd to me.
Ow. Ow. Started my next survival game and threw together a base as soon as I could; on Medium defaults difficulty I couldn't ever stray far from the emergency o2 generator, and needed a large constructor to build an 02 gen to place in water. After barely scraping together what I needed to build the base, I was out of copper and hadn't found a copper deposit yet. ...I just got back from looking for more copper (didn't find any but was running low on oxygen and food) to find drones circling like buzzards around the crater that used to be my base. Well that game's doomed.
No, must be considerably more than 500 meters, as they started firing before I could even get close to receive the POI notification.
