Sawfish fighter - if Mohican is too armored and too square. I have a special save where I have three alien bases nearby on Akua not destroyed. Call them my focus group - they always see it all first. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=742669218
The Janus was originally a mining ore bucket lift and transport vehicle. Dual cockpits were provided to allow for an on and off shift pilot rotation scheme when flying long distances on planets. The warmongers saw some potential in it, and lift bay was quickly re-purposed to accommodate weapons, a lot of them.
Now thats cool. Even painted great! Nice imaginative creation, and looks functional (have not pinned it yet from workshop)
Thank you ! It is surprisingly practical, everything you need to access (even to repair) is behind a door, and it handles well, shoots damn well. It has a big sister now too which has the constructors and is hardened - ie. heavy ! but still quite nice, just need to do the photoshoot and upload her
Oh cool! Ive had a hard time trying to 'make the big SV' ... seems everytime I begin, and end, it still ends up small to mid size! GAH! Edit: Stupid question to anyone: how do you open a link INTO steam so you can easily sub to a workshop item?
It's funny you say that because my sense of scale gets lost easily. The Janus felt huge, flying through the hangar doors had me checking to see if im left or right piloting and thinking i'm probably going to crash, but when parked next to one of my other "large" SV's this was narrower, and not as tall ?!!??!
During survival on my DS, we tend to purposely make smaller SV due to the CV not being so gigantic to accomodate. So we try to stick to something that fits the 5 x 3 doors. lol. But in creative when I'm just being creative... there should not be any limits yet I still make small crap! I need to break out my mind and try BIG. But then I spend a month going over every surface of every block tuning =p
If you're browsing via the steam icon app thing on your desktop: Go to the workshop page you want to link and then right-click -> "Copy Page URL"... or worded something like that.
Yeah I use Chrome. Steam browser is arse So I just searched the workshop for the name you gave instead.
I don't know of an easy way to sub, as in auto push the button, only opening the relevant page. I'm html challenged tho
You got me thinking about my so called design process It generally starts with an idea of a shape, with that basic shape in mind I will attempt to fit in the gubbins and wrap the hull around them - so to speak. And that involves deciding who gets to lie next to what, with how much metal between them (or not), do i want them externally accessed or not, am I concerned about it blowing up or not, is it a walk in or not, and all of that determines the fixed size which you can't alter much, and then the kicker is to panel beat that into something that looks ok. I have never set out to make a "large" sv, although some have ended up that way. I have however set out to make a large CV, and it was a fail. it has given me new respect for the great designers here and in other walks of life. Sorry for the ramble
Yep. But I cannot seem to find anywhere in steam (the app window itself) to paste the link and have it go to it. I tried pasting it into the search box thinking they would smart-decipher what I was trying to do lol... but it just stared at me blankly. I dont login to steam in a web browser, so its hard to 'subscribe' or 'like' things as my steam user, in steam... when I come across them using chrome.
Ahh, if you manage to open a sub window in steam it has an URL box, usually by middle button clicking some link or other should do it, but it is stupidly akward
