Yeah a long time ago I built a large base and when trying to spawn the blueprint it seemed to pretty much do that: moved the "center" and then chopped off blocks that were too far away from the new center. I don't know if they've changed things since then.

Yep... and wanting rent from me too. So I care notmore what they do now. I play no "Rent" Games.
They can even make Mass Effect 4, with own shipbuilding ect... and all + Basemangement like fortrescraft and I would not pay rent for it.

I'd pay, if it was <= $5/mo and had mostly pve zones to simply enjoy the game in... but theres no way I'm paying more than Empyrion, EACH MONTH, for a single game, that forces everyone into one server with pvp enabled mostly everywhere with only small 'bubbles' of pve safe zones. Thats just BS for a builder sandbox.

I've deleted all my bookmarks, and simply will not follow the game anymore. I'm flat out no longer interested after I saw the monthly price.

I agree. Empyrion in my opinion will be the better game anyway. Star citizen doesn't even ask for a subscription fee. I think that was pretty arrogant of them to do that. I've played MMos before but I never wanted that style of game play in my builder sandbox game.

I wouldn't pay rental on a game but..... I do enjoy there tech. I also enjoy there openness to there product. A company with a real plan. Not a made up game as time goes on. Very professional.

Why do you say arrogant? Star Citizen reached out to DU with a Like. So DU thanked them back.

That's because Chris Roberts is not only a awesome developer he is a awesome person. He promotes Space games a lot. He promoted Ever Space one week and a few years ago he did a video with the Developers of Elite Dangerous. If he likes a game he shares it with the community. I say arrogant because DU isn't the only building ;survival game in the market but yet they are charging a subscription fee while other games that pretty much do the same thing as their game will do aren't . In my opinion there is too much competition to go route but you never know. People will pay for something that seems new at first. I'm just looking at the direction Space Engineers is going and Empyrion is going and I don't see DU making that big of a impact when it's finally released to keep a lot of people paying a monthly fee when they can pay a one time fee and get a whole game that pretty much does the samething but with less people on one server. That is just my personal opinion and I could be wrong. I think DU's dev said a beta or a full release of the game will be out in 2018 . Well can you imagine where Space Engineers and Empyrion will be by then? Space Engineers should have the multiplayer fixed before 2018 LOL or one would hope. If you haven't seen pictures of the new blocks SE has coming then it's worth a look. The blocks have the textures you would see on a Ship in a Star citizen or elite dangerous game. We all know what Empyrion has planned, they listed everything that anybody could think of as a feature. Like I said i could be wrong and DU could be the best space game ever made

Subscription plan has nothing to do with arrogance, it's just there to maintain the server-farm, gotta pay the bills right? Some people like MMOs some don't it is what it is. I've played EVE Online for about 3-4 years and I don't regret spending about 15$ a month for subscriptions, because let's be honst the game kept me busy and I barely had interest in other games, and didn't buy a new ones. Some people complaining about the subscriptions, which are in my opinion a better option then the free to play aka pay to win system, but in the same breath spending about 30-60 bucks for games or DLCs every other month with crappy to no support by the devs.
At the end of the day it's a matter of personal preference and if the game is ****, oh well, it's gamers risk ;)

I totally agree the costs of the servers has to come from somewhere. Empyrion has this very same problem when hosting for large groups of players. The people that dont like a pay as you go just dont need to play. Very simple I think.

As for new blocks. Well thats a very interesting subject. As time marches on with the popularity of voxel games. More and more assets are being made each day. Its like computers. Whats new today is old news tomorrow. Same goes for the game engines these guys and others are using.

But the bottom line for me personally posting these videos is to spread the joy they bring to the eyes and ears of all those interested in space games.

Monthly Fee means nothing to me as long as their providing the the server side of things and of course they are, adding none stop content, so far it seems that is their plan with free expansions their calling them after 6-12 months and I assume updates in between.

If the game does right and works out right it's going be pretty much Second Life 10 Space Theme with a Mix of Space Engineers, Empyrion, No Man's Sky, and many other great games.

    Now anyone have 400 Euro's I can Borrow :p?

I'm not backing it. Love the tech and spreading the videos lol.

With so many new games coming out a player could go broke.

I just read that in here from a post up the page and the laughter was pretty loud here !
I doubt KEEN will ever fix there multiplayer, simply because there game is built on the wrong game engine for any type of decent multiplayer with more than 4 people.

DU is looking very expensive for what it is, I dont think its going to be as big as there trying to hype it up to be.
