Over the course of several days testing their server, our faction witnessed multiple violations of their own website's stated protocol when it suited the admins. Want to have your base trolled? How about having multiple spawns of enemy AI injected into your bases and ships? So we figured we'd head off to their base since it's on a PvP planet to express a little playerbase-type love. What we found were structures that seemed way too unlikely to have their materials gathered legitimately, especially by a rather small team. We assaulted their base only to have our turret CVs despawned shortly after landing. We also witnessed at least one of their admins floating around the middle of the fight in god mode. As we destroyed or even heavily damaged their ships, they were despawned and replaced with fresh ones. They even set up a spawn station set to public in the middle of their base's turret fire, effectively camping the spawn, if you ended up there. If you're looking for a level playing field avoid this server.
Unknownskies ultimately lost the battle to godmode and admin cheating. This was fully expected. Our primary objective was to win the war by validating for ourselves and egs players the sad rumors we've been hearing about EAG Dedicated. If you want a server where you are ruled by admin overlords who are all together in their own faction, using all means to maintain their lordship, then eag is your server. If you want a server with an even playing field, then you should check out a server like unknownskies.com where admins play with you, not against you. Where admin tools are only used to deal with and make good on bad game dynamics like turrets shooting through terrain or handling rules violators (only as a last resort). Those selected to be admins are only those who put community above all else. Following the likely wipe after 4.0 drops, unknownskies admins will be starting fresh just like you, butt naked and hungry. Admins are spread across factions. Our issue with servers setup like EAG is the corrosion and harm it does to this game and MP at large. If you find yourself on such a server, leave it and please don't give up. There are servers and people out there that do realize it is real people sitting behind a keyboard who want to enjoy a good game and community, and offer both. To all the EAG admins - I want to add an observation by our team and helpful advice. Your designs, ships and flying need to improve (read sux). How many cvs did you need to insta-spawn to take down one of ours? Pro Tip: Drop the godmode and admin cheating, and experience the sting of defeat. It will give you the incentive you need to step-up your game. Then you will have legit accomplishments to be proud of. Regards, Swiss
