Ha! And I had to open my big mouth about small HV's. Nicely done. I love the ghost, am going to go investigate that in creative.

Life Drain or no Life Drain from the Alien Parasite i'm not clear on, i've only died to it once or twice long ago & the rest of the time I had Antidote Injections to kill the hell outta that Parasite with & did so shortly after getting it. :p

Sometimes people seek to do something because it is hard. 3.4.2 & below it was hard to go big... 4.0.0 it is hard to go small. :p (HV-wise)

The jeep was my second ever HV and it was specifically made to be a light vehicle that could be unlocked almost right away. What better design for that than a jeep? I've actually gone back and balanced several of my blueprints around the idea of survival gameplay and lower level unlocks/fewer resources. I'm sure I'll get around to building an overly large HV bristling with firepower eventually. My nickname is Siege afterall. :)

I have a couple ideas in mind for some larger HVs. I'm going to make a larger truck next I think. It has to fit in my garage though. I'm also thinking of building some military style APC to go with my bunker series. Maybe a tracked vehicle or maybe I'll try and adapt the APC from the Aliens movie.

I created this experimental Bench/Platform for my testing and experimenting with the new HV mechanics immediately prior to the release of 4.0. Now with 4.x and beyond I am going to continue to use it, but thought I would post it here and in the Base thread in case others could find it useful to have something to kind of plop down without having to go through tedium of selecting another blueprint when you need a flat place to build a vessel or building it themselves. Feel free to use it modify it however you want; I find it helpful for gauging distance, size, and balance.

I have a fairly quick question.
I have been going through my old blueprints and deleting ones I no longer care for, but, I'm a little torn on these two and wanted to ask.

Which one do you think is better?
The Cockpit 9 version or the open cockpit version?

I like the smooth lines of the closed cockpit. That being said, I'd probably use the OC version. It's more practical because it doesn't put you outside when you exit the pilot's chair.

In other news, I was messing around with the video settings. I turned off bloom. The game is still too bright in direct light(and yet too dark in the shadows), the textures still have that weird high contrast thing going on and the colors are a bit too vivid but it's more bearable now.

Updated one of my smaller BattleTank designs, now named the Kreshnar.

It is capable of taking down smaller POIs

Then messed around a bit and made a jumbo-jet sorta SV. Currently has 32 passenger seats with room to spare.

Lastly, planning (or at least thinking of planning) a few Workshop-oriented bases, for prototyping and maintaining vessels and such.

I vote Cockpit 9 Version cause Cockpit 9 is a hell of a lot sturdier & Pilot Safer then the Open Cockpit + Windows. Brawn > Aesthetics in my book. :)

For the Topic: The new SV is nearly done. I jammed as many RCSs as I could into it & it still slugs around at turning too much like the Violent Taxi. I'm forming a devious plan to do something about this, but it's gonna take some careful thinking...

Resurrected an old SV that I had deleted from the workshop, debating on keeping it.

Setup a base in Survival, with multiple ore deposits within the bases turret range.

I've been jumping back and forth between different projects today. Redesigned a couple of my concrete bunkers. I made a steel version of the smallest one and redesigned the slightly larger one to be unlocked at level 1. I also downgraded the armor on my Autoshop/Garage. The material costs are a bit more reasonable now. Shaved 8,000 iron ingots and all the sathium ingots(was about 5100) off the cost.

In between that I've been working on my large truck HV. It's coming along nicely but I am brain fried so it's time to hang it up for the night.

Started a new survival game, on my own. Quickly realized that I didn't have any "starter" bases in my blueprints collection, and hopped back to Creative to make one.

Lacuna is mostly concrete, but has a surprisingly high Silicon requirement (maybe I used too much glass?).
All the survival basics at a Lvl 3 requirement, takes a bit less than 30 minutes to make. Only issue I ran into, there seems to be a strange glitch with the new vertical doors, where they stay open unless you close them manually. I switched it out for a normal horizontal-opening door soon after discovering this, and updated the BP accordingly.

She'll probably hit the workshop tomorrow evening.

    EDIT:
    And she's out.

I regard them mostly as novelty items - they're best when you have empty space on either side of the door and don't want to see the panels opening sideways. I used a couple on the Selene LXS, but somehow never noticed they stayed open.

Also, figured out my Silicon question - the block update included windows, as well as the typical steel/hard/combat structurals, so of course any base with windows is going to cost significantly more now.

Awww mannn and right after I made a small BA that I thought looked great, this thing comes along and shows me how boring it really is xD

You are truly a master of aesthetics, and I am supremely jealous of that :p

Sorry for being a bit spammy, but we're being productive for once :D

This is the Typhon's hangar, heavily under construction.

Docked to the left is a quartet of Tyto, one of four such moorings. In the middle distance we have berths for a moray Mk2 (as yet unreleased) on top, a Faust underneath, another quartet of Tyto, two more Moray Mk2 and Faust, and right in the distance (how far?) is a repair bay.*

Note that this is just one of the hangars of the Typhon, mirrored around the centreline.

Still lots of work to do.

*please please please can we have more than one repair bay per CV?
