    No kidding! I'm honored :D

Huge thanks to everyone who has contributed, this thread never would have grown so large if I was the only one who ever posted on it! :p

Plus it's always awesome being able to scroll through and see all the great projects everyone is working on :D

The continuing adventures of COP: Having returned to the fray in the guise of ONE, we are still COP at heart. Moto and myself have temporarily aligned ourselves with Force. More defensive than our previous adventures we have mined continuously and built massive defenses on Event Horizon. Having fended off an initial attack by a large force of P-L, with a Force of ONE, we set about gathering more resources to counter attack. I was off to the moon to gather from a t3 miner. Taking a one hit generator shot killed my ship and myself upon entering orbit, and by the time we were able to regroup at base a second attack had been initiated by P-L. We landed mid attack and I jumped into the WVW-Dragonfly-2 (the only ship available at the time) which I had earlier added extra rail guns to. Moto and Force were in Chocolate-Vipers and hammering a couple CV's parked near our base. I noted various artillery fire from the ground and swooped in to see at least 5 hover tanks. Just like a Huey Cobra of old my converted heli began hammering the HV tanks taking them out one by one. Soon the CV's broke for space with my little heli nailing them all the way to orbit. I returned to the base to find a single P-L in a attack base, I soon killed him and then took out the base. I landed the Dragonfly-2, did some minor and very easy repairs, fully impressed by the converted transport. It lived up to it's intended purpose in more ways than ONE.

I'm just getting into this game, but I really love it! Been wanting something like this for years. Anyway, last night I took an already designed scout craft and added some teeth.

After taking the last pic of the HV Fleet, I decided to expand on that idea. So, I set up and took a few pics of every current SlamTek design (basically anything I've personally designed over the past few months or so, usually intended to be used by the RGC on the Red vs Blue server).

I left out several very old/pointless blueprints (as well as very similar variants), so all that you see is current able to be used, excepting the three massive CVs in the back that still need a fair bit of work to be complete, but are still flyable.

    (The SVs and HVs)

    (The full fleet)

Might try some better angles to be able to see everything a little more clearly. Or I might actually build something new :p We'll see.

But hey, not a bad collection for one guy to design and build, eh? :p

I was recently invited to a POI contest, but sadly, I am not allowed to participate because I am not a U.S. citizen. See the thread here: http://empyriononline.com/threads/nse-gaming-poi-contest-prizes.7827/

But I liked the idea of designing a POI so I setup a faction I want to do a complete series of POIs for using my beloved pyramid shapes. Its the "Pharos" faction and I intend to make at least 7 different POIs for them. I hope I do not loose my steam while working on them. It is a pity we cannot build underground strucures at the moment so hiding the core is bit of a problem. But well, this inspires us to be even more creative.

The Pharos faction uses pyramidal base designs, likes windows a lot and when it arrives at a planet it lands its mothersip which is converted to a headquarters base. Then it sets up mining and manufacturing structures, the goods are then supplied to a spaceport and shipped to their market hubs. They try to be as self sufficiant as possible bringing hydroponic gardens and workshops for the everyday needs. Every structure except the unarmed POIs has an advanced constructor netting the player 2 power coils (plus whatever rare ores can be found in the yellow containers)

I have finished 2 unarmed POIs, which represent the lowest tier in the POI hierarchy. These are meant to be able to be taken by the player on foot and would yield a lot of iron and silicon for the player if he chooses to deconstruct the base to build an own base without having to mine a lot. The unarmed POIs are made of iron blocks and normal windows, higher tier POIs have more advanced materials. The idea is that, on the lowest tier level, a player should be able to blast through walls if she chooses.

There are no epic loot containers in them, but a few yellow ones (that can contain rare ores) and quite some reds. Plus a crapton of whites. I definitly want the player to carry a shipload of basic loot home.

The Pharos Food Facility is basically a huge greenhouse and turned out to be a little larger than expected. I tested the POI and it was quite hard for me, so it should be adaequate for a normal player (I usually suck at shooter games) The core is hidden, but it is accessable without destroying wall blocks, the player just has to look closely. I like the fact that the POI even keeps the plants that I put in the growing plots, I feared the plots would end up empty.

The Pharos Depot on the other hand turned out to be a little smaller than expected and it has only 2 spawners inside, there wasnt roome for any more. This POI is very easy to take but since I liked the shape, it stayed. Plus, there are official POIs in the same difficulty category so I thought "whatever". The core in here is hiodden behind iron blocks but since the structure is so small it is quite obvious where it is.

So far building POIs has been a fun and rewarding experience, that is quite different from building a base. Usually I try to build bases as small and efficient as possible, here I can finally go big. Central elevators are suddenly a bad thing and having to run a lot in the building due to inefficient pathing is good.

So far I have been unable to upload them to the workshop because of illegal blocks... bummer... Do we have a place where we can share POIs?

Try here, there are several POI-style builds scattered around it. And while I wouldn't call your shiny glass pyramids "wreckage, artifacts, or ruins," this seems to be the de facto POI-sharing thread.

*Gasp* Farm Plots pre-filled with something growing in them & having those Plants Spawn with the BPs is DOABLE!!? Why did I never think of trying this!!?

Also, those look like spiffy POI Designs. :)

Sorry about that mate, we had some restrictions put on us to keep it legal in the USA =S

NOW onto that upload idea, our crew is working on a web app that will be accepting POI's and helping ppl configure servers (including POI downloading!). So essentially it's TBD on when there is a POI upload site =D.

As for what I've been doing in Empyrion: Testing blueprints that have been tinkered with to get more information about their format =P

PS: Any C# devs who want to help with our project feel free to hop in our TS3 server (ts.nsegaming.com)

PS2: If you want to just hang out and make POI's regardless of your region, I'm all up for that too!

    Operation H.A.L.O.

I had everything ready. My base was decked out with all the goodies; I had several growing plots generating necessary food stuffs, I had two constructors working away making items for potential future endeavors, the base was well-lit and defended, I fueled and armed the HV as a sort of rescue vessel, and I even waited to complete "Not afraid of the dark Akua" and got a shiny new Pulse rifle. Minerals were in abundance, I had identified and scavenged the nearby Titan part...

Day was breaking, and so too would the spaceport a few ridges over; it was time

    Survival_5_2016-10-29_23-30-50.png

I hopped into my newest SV creation, aptly named "Dumb stubby little pod 2," and took off towards my target.

    Survival_5_2016-10-30_20-35-39.png

As I flew on, I realized I was heading in the wrong direction; quite literally the opposite of what I wanted, and with a quick flourish which included many face-palms, I reared about and then set about in the RIGHT direction:

    Survival_5_2016-10-30_20-35-28.png

Despite my recent, no doubt alien-influenced lunacy, my spirits were still high. I approached the target circling like a hawk, viewing it's prey from great distance:

    Survival_5_2016-10-30_20-36-22.png

I flew ever upwards hoping to be out of the reach of the stationary guns. Higher and higher. Finally satisfied with the altitude, I inched my ship over the enemy stronghold:

    Survival_5_2016-10-30_20-36-58.png

After a thousand and one tiny adjustments, it was time. I exited the cockpit, threw a salute, and jumped towards my destiny!

    YEEEEEEE HHHHHAWWWWW!!!!!! GEEEROOONIIIMOOO!

    Goddamnit :mad::oops::eek::D:p:cool:

To this day. No one truly knows what happened to the idiot pilot that decided to H.A.L.O. jump onto an enemy stronghold. *sigh* :)

An an actual ex-paratrooper, I feel like posting an old saying we have.

Only two things fall from the sky.
    Bird crap and idiots.

Back on subject, today I made a pure-cement landing strip.
It actually is just cement, it does not have a core, or any internal devices. But it gives you something to do with all the rock dust you have been collecting.

I will admit, I got the core-less idea from another author in the workshop. But I did not like the aesthetics of his creation and built my own. I normally fly a mobile base for my CV, I just wanted something to park it on.

I chuckled at this more than I should've, I think. I was curious how it'd go for you, but there are a few things worth noting:
-I see you're jumping onto an Epsilon Spaceport. It's the Fortress that has the core dead-center under the roof. The Outposts might too, but I honestly haven't bothered poking one.
-I was only willing to try this with my GF because someone had to bring the ship back down. In SP, you'd have to either godmode back up there, or wait for it to drop.

Be that as it may, I'm actually sad it didn't work out for you. I was kinda hoping for an awesome story of lunatic-style triumph. Maybe next time? ;)

    As for my own adventures...
Took the LSX to the moon tonight. I'm preparing to leave Akua behind, and decided to stock up on neodymium first - also easier to harvest crystals here. However, I came in almost on top of the Hyperion wreck - which also had a Drone Base and Ghost Rider Def. II within firing range. And of course, the miniguns were going berserk because there were drones patrolling all over the place...
    Viridian_2016-10-30_23-37-58.jpg
Slapped down a landing pad, and used a few of my precious Power Coils I'd salvaged to make a repair block. Took me a few minutes to remember a vessel has to be powered down for it to do its thing. Derp. But despite weathering fire from two different bases and a bunch of obstinate drones, the LSX was still in prime condition. Viridian_2016-10-30_23-44-53.jpg
First order of business was to secure the Hyperion wreckage. At which point, I have to ask:
What the hell is up with the structural integrity on this thing? It falls apart if I sneeze too loudly! Viridian_2016-10-30_23-45-23.jpg
(No seriously, I want to know - why is the Hyperion wreckage so structurally unsound? I lost a lot of good salvage when the front end blew up, for reasons I'm still not clear on.)

After looting what I could from the Hyperion, I sniped out the turrets on the Drone Base (it was well within range from the Hyperion's rear end), and proceeded to lay waste to the place. The Ghost Rider base soon followed - more out of spite than anything else. They're honestly not worth the time and effort for a single white container. I didn't even knock the core out of it. But it did shoot at me, so some retribution was in order. Viridian_2016-10-30_23-49-51.jpg
Found a Ghost Rider Base further east, but it was only marginally more interesting, by virtue of having some Zirax inside. I'm seriously thinking of designing some POIs of my own to replace these old, outdated ones. Especially considering they're still using 50-hp Hull Blocks that are easier to knock down than the door itself.
    Viridian_2016-10-30_23-59-03.jpg
Afterwards, I realized I was low on Magnesium and went back home to Akua to empty an ore deposit. Will still need to go back to the moon and retrieve that repair block, at the very least. Haven't decided where to warp to first, though.

Thanks Kieve, will post there when I get home.

Never tried it with normal bases but I figured, because these are POIs, they might have different rules.

I have absolutely no problem with that, just wanted to explain why I post here instead of participating. Having a blast designing and testing POIs so I get away with a positive net sum of fun.

You should DEFINITELY redesign some of those bases. Not so much because they are bad - they are kind of boring, but more because I think you could do something pretty sweet and I would love to see it.

Well today i finished the first draft of the outside of my main building in the compound. 20161031163456_1.jpg
Couldn't really get a better angle as i may have fell off my SV and it still hasn't come down yet, not quite happy with the flat surfaces but will go over it with some textures and color and take it from there. Expecting this to take quite some time till i'm going to be happy with it.

I started a new game last night because reasons. I went through a few different seeds before I found one I sorta liked. There was an enemy POI nearby but also a number of nicely clustered resource deposits. I touched down in the escape pod and took a look around. Nothing. No activity. I did a little hunting and went about gathering resources. Aside from a pack of raptors off in the distance it was quiet. Too quiet.

When I'd finally gathered enough to make an HV and maybe a small base later I set the HV to cooking in the factory. I was tired of sitting in a dirty hole in the ground and since it was about 12 minutes to sundown I decided I might as well explore a bit and see if I can't find some Titan wreckage. The HV will be done before dark so I set off on the bike. Now I finally began to see drone activity as I spotted a patrol across the meadow. I avoided him and continued making my way up a ridge line for a better view of things.

As I'm making my way along the ridge I spot another drone patrol in front of me. I didn't want to backtrack so I ambushed it. There was another patrol on the far side of the ridge but he didn't spot me so I looted the drone wreckage and set off on my bike once more. It wasn't long before I came upon another patrol in front me. I gun the engine and go flying past. A couple seconds go by and then the stillness is shattered. The large boom behind me lets me know what kind of drone it was. I glance at the timer. All the sudden what was 11 minutes to sundown suddenly becomes seconds. Another explosion goes off behind me. Oh sh--!

So there I am dodging rocket fire and trees in the dark. Things are looking grim but as luck would have it I managed to outrun the drone without running into any trees. I'm riding along in the dark now and enemy POIs are starting to pop up. I keep my distance while trying to slip past the drone patrols. They're more frequent now but I see the Talon Guardian village across a small bay and decide to check it out. Maybe I can take shelter there until the HV is ready. I was going to lay low but a drone wandered in from the dark and it was obviously looking for me. After playing hide and seek among the village huts for a bit like a cat toying with it's prey I take it out. Then I check my radar. You know that scene in Aliens when their radar fills up with blips converging on their location? Yeah. Red triangles coming in from all directions......

Tune in next time to find out if our intrepid hero lives or dies!

The AI being what it is, I'm not sure hiding with TGs is a wise choice. Discharge a firearm too close to their "general direction" and you might end up with the whole village attacking you too!
