Introducing, Mistral. A cheap, fast, lower level HV that is perfect for your survival starter needs. Armed with two miniguns and plenty of storage this should help measurably towards getting you to that first POI or shield you until you fetch enough resources for a spiffy new SV. This is my attempt at an open-cockpit design and also let me experiment with glass. Will glide when launching off of mountain tops, and the view from inside the cockpit as you zoom through forests is awesome. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=804175540 Enjoy!
For the last couple of days, I've been rebuilding the Prefab Tier1 CV into an armored glass model. It definitely is the superior building block. Check out the increase in health of the ship. 2/3 increase in strength. The lightened weight allowed me to add bigger fuel tanks and an extra turret. A tier 2 RCS provides much improved handling. Yea, it would probably still suck in PvP. Just something I wanted to try.
Looks like I warped into the wrong side of the galaxy . Picard better raise shields before I get in range!!!lol Both ships are on the workshop. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=800609282 I think this is the first Galaxy Class I've seen in Empyrion. Hopefully we get the ability to add our own blueprints to the Game's Alien AI because I would love to add some of the blueprints in the workshop to AI and battle them.
Something like this? I have been debating on uploading it as "DHAND" (Don't Have A Nice Day). This version uses armored blocks, and is armed.
I remember Tyrax Lightning saying that an all-glass ship tanks the frame rate in multiplayer. I do not know if that is still the case with the current build.
I've never yet heard otherwise on it thus far. Also, DHAND is lookin good. For the Topic: My Mad Empyrion Science with the Internal External Jet Thrusters continues... i'm now actually trying to build a SV outta it! Holy hell building the 3x13x3 Jet Thrusters into the Hull takes some Oomph. Why in the Halibut is its Attachment Point on its End when the place it'll surely be attached to most often will be its Middle Area? *Facepalm* Also, new Blocks are coming in handy too!
I love the NEW BLOCKS.. you have every single block you need to build anything now. Now if we could some type of animation blocks like the rotor and Pistons in space engineers.
Holy crap they added a bunch of new blocks. Those stone deco blocks!!!! And the lab equipment! I have got to make something with those. This stuff is too good to pass up the chance to spruce up a few of my older blueprints too. So much work to do now. But....new hotness! Pity they didn't add more textures while they were at it. /really really really wants new textures
In continuing my themed NASA creations, I built a proper lander for planetary excursions. As this is more than just a crew transfer vehicle, it actually features some utility in the form of an O2 station and storage for science samples... 1 cargo box. Very early in the days of prometheum power and the technology of modern thrusters, these "hoppers" were initially planned for a single passenger and the starship would carry one to conserve weight. But given the technology had not been tested for longevity, they opted to stock the ship with a pair of two-seaters. Now I can design the hanger.
Eek! Do not invoke the Omnipotent Klang! Do not mention the Omni... oh dear. *hides at the bottom of a very deep hole*
The T-48S (for space). All the originiality and practicality of the original, with an exciting new EGS Century upgrade package. Take the Snowspeeder from planet to orbit in 14 parsecs, cruise mountainous terrain inches above the powder, cross vast deserts undetected, its all possible... sorry, work in progress. Love the new smaller blocks. T-48S in optional Omicron Desert Camo livery. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=804322624
I thought I was done for the day... And then I updated my NASA warp ship hull work in progress and built a prototype of the hanger.
I moved to Ocutune. To celebrate, I built the first player house that's not just a jumble of concrete blocks and I built my first HV (I went directly to SVs). Had to build the house in survival mode because (As I learned) you can't spawn a base in the water even though the pilings to support it reach well down to the seabed).
I started going over my Falcon CV today. The new deco items are fabulous. I gave the crew quarters a much needed facelift. It has a little Mos Eisley Cantina vibe going on and I added some more piping and other details to some of the engineering sections. Now to see what I can do with the engine room. Already wishing I could rotate pieces at a 45 degree angle so I can run more piping. Crew quarters with a bunch of the new deco items: Engineering section with some piping I modified one of my simpler bases too. Playing around a bit with the modular building.
I posted it for you, enjoy. I can imagine the look on someones face when they see that buzzing around in Multiplayer. CV-DHAND Now to get experimenting with all the nifty new blocks.
Built myself a little HV arty setup, it needs textures/colours still, but it works really nicely. Took out the Xenu Fortress P1 with it last night.
