I know posted a PVP video yesterday but here is another pretty cool battle.. I might start playing multiplayer again because this looks fun.
Holy hell! They were landing more then 0 Shots with their normal Rocket Launchers in SV Dogfighting! How the hell were they doing that!!?
If ya do, please ask them on my behalf how the hell they can possibly Lead Target + Anticipate Target Location + Calculate Rocket Volley Travel, well enough to get any hits on a Dogfighting Foe with freaking Dumbfire Rockets that well! I swear it seemed like out of all the Dumbfire Rockets fired in that battle from that Vidder, he seemed like he got a roughly 10ish% Accuracy! In the Dumbfire Rocket World, that's total badassery!
Introducing, Metris. This is the survival CV I built for myself after the 4.x mechanics upped the cost for all CV related designs. I uploaded this primarily so that I would still have the ship if my computer went kaput. So nothin fancy here. Each time I play through a survival game I tweak Metris a bit - this time around I added some plating around the edges of the ship that have colored lining. I love the effect. I got the inspiration from Kieve's new HV, the Drifter: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=816922425&searchtext=Drifter - (you should go take a look, it is very neat) Around 7800 Iron, Metris is very accessible as far as CV's go(If you are struggling, just dismantle 2 or so POI's; you should then have all the metal plates.) Only 10 Erestrum and 10 Zascosium means the bottle-necking from exotic materials is kept to a minimum. The two positions for the CV based Repair pads are marked. The main hangar can fit and HV the size of Hecate: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=809242685 There are no beds here; no chairs or tables; Metris is very easy to move through, and is designed for the purpose. If the Developers ever add AI CV's and SV's I will consider upping it's speed and adding fixed weaponry. Just started the game. Spent 7 hours getting my base up. My first motorcycle was abandoned next to en epsilon base when I realized the locals really didn't like foreigners. Explored quite a bit and built up a base to the point where the drones aren't attacking anymore. Shame though, because the cannons atop the base aren't doing anything at all. Finally got the courage to mount an attack on the epsilon base. Built a spiffy hovercraft and started to snipe at the base from atop a mountain. Projectiles did nada to the cannons, so I decided to head back to base to get a rocket launcher .. took a wrong turn and landed right in front of the epsilon base where the cannons very quickly destroyed my hovercraft and my corpse. Decided this is a great opportunity to head to sleep. You won this time, Epsilon.
I felt compelled to design a new set of playfields for the Hssiss Confederation, a xenophobic force of lizardfolk, to house and work/improve upon ships I have been designing for their forces. There was a great deal of trial and error, even when using some guides (I blame the fact that Notepad++ likes to insert Tabs upon starting a new string). In the end, and after a handful of hours of tweaking, I now have the Haskite Cluster within my game. Sporting three planets with a custom biome, and two moons with altered parameters; I feel that the region will do nicely for the Confederation.
G That is what happens when I get inspired by seasonal car ads. I wanted to continue practicing SVs, so I thought I'd start with a quick, cheap personal use / non combat commuter shuttle. Flying car. "Blue bargain" there is barebones model, while "Red redux" has all the latest in high end headlights, air supply, storage, and an O2 dispenser perfect for when your car breaks down on the way to the space station. No, we're not advertising a lack of reliability, that's not what the script- ah never mind. Anyways, next I wanted to make an SV frame for early survival combat - since the beast I whipped up yesterday was very much "endgame" expense. I don't think I quite nailed the early game cost range with this one, but I got it nimble and wound up with a look I like... And that's it for me today.
Just got back into playing again since 4.0 came out and having a good time. Landed next to the Titan rear section and decided to make it my base. I've never fully committed to doing that before, always did it as a very temporary shelter but decided to go all out this time. Things are going great, a nice little 2 level base that is almost perfectly camouflaged as just a piece of junk. Sure the floor is crooked but who cares. I'm even starting to dig out a tunnel into the buried part to make a garage for HV's. One thing I learned the hard way.......if you use the titan to build a base for the long term, make sure you go into the power screen and turn off any thrusters that may still be attached. One weird thing though, I haven't had one single drone attack yet. Did something change in 4.x to make those less common? Is it because I used the Titan? I'd like to RP it as the aforementioned camouflage effect but I don't think the drones can be fooled that way. It could also be from lower difficulty settings, I assume I can change those so I'll try that.
@Fractalite After some preliminary investigations into building limits we are going to have to postpone this challenge until some oddities get fixed. I shall elucidate further; it would appear that it is possible to build further in one direction than it is in the opposite direction (width, X). At some point (undetermined as of yet) when building vertically (height,Z) spawning a blueprint gives the known flipping/mirroring hell-in-a-bucket. At this point, we gave up, no point checking what is and isn't possible in length (Y) because the issues with X & Z are blueprint breaking at max size. Max size isn't even achievable, I think we got to 476m in width and 478 in height and length, curiously, the difference between length and width being 2m seems to suggest that the centre block isnt used for calculating the actual width of the structure. (476/2=238) The width appears to be even and yet the structure is not. confuzzled I r.
Well... that makes me very sad. I had a feeling something like this might happen... here's hoping that when they fix this they also expand the block limit to 1500 in either direction.
@Fractalite totally agree about the limits, and fret not, it is *only a postponement. @Tyrax Lightning I pray to lord Jeebus everynight! Give me the strength to carry on until we get some proper tools! On a slightly related note: we have a few other ideas currently being cogitated upon, more thunk-nuggets soons
LOL I can ask him that on his youtube page. I wondered that myself. lol Plus if you add in the lag, it's amazing that they got any hits at all. I didn't think you could dog fight with extreme lag but they did pretty well.
I agree with this. 1500 limit at least if not more. I kind of wish 4000 block limit on each side would happen. Now I will admit that I run out of ideas for what to put inside my ship when it gets too big but it's enjoyable to jump in a Giant ship you've built. I would love to build some 1:1 replicas sometime soon.
