I Submitted this Alien POI here to a Alien POI Creation Contest awhile ago. Ya could take a gander at it & see if it's the kinda thing ya had in mind taking this into account: I got the Inside done, but didn't get the outside nearly to as grand a plan as what I had envisioned at the start due to me running out of time while my RL was being its usually crappy self so the outside gives a rough 'gist' of an idea of what I had been goin for but in my mind is very 'undone' & 'not implementation complete'. If ya like it I could try to get around to actually finishing the outside as per how I had actually envisioned it to start with, or as close to it as turns out I manage to actually manage in actual real Base Building practice. FYI it's a Space Base, not a Planetary Base. Oh, also, reduction of Lights usage is totally feasible too. I don't tend to use that many, but this was for a Contest at the time so I hoped the Contest Runners had badass hardware to run this dude on.
Alright I've come real fast to explain why the old way of launching the server doesn't work. A few updates ago they split the main client from the server, so now you have to download a package either from the steam tools or a link they provided(which I don't remember the damn post that they did this split on, probs Alpha 4). Then just kinda take the server data files(tells the game how to run with difficulties and everything) and make sure they are updated because they ADDED MORE to them. I'll edit this if I find a link. Also, Tryax I've gotten a few ideas for some mining vessels that maybe anybody in GMC can get if I manage to get access to my computer long enough to make them.
Funny ya mention that, I commenced making one today & have it nearly complete... also liked how it handled in a Test Drive: Spoiler: Needs a bit of work after this, but it's a promising start! Also, I still wonder if Passenger Seats + Mining Turrets could = interesting Co-op Mining possibilities.

Not to bad, I was thinking of two separate designs, one for single user design kinda similar to the on that they showed on the teaser but much more compacted. I do feel like that it was cool looking but maybe longer than it needed to be. As a mining vessel it would be nice to have room to maneuver. And another with a (undisclosed amount of turrets) that is basically a movable mining platform of turrets.
4 Passenger Seats + me as Driver. Also, if you're REALLY curious about it, i've gotten it Posted on the "What did you do in Empyrion today?" Thread. Didn't turn out as epic as i'd hoped, but I hope it's not a shabby first try.
Well I was thinking more of something that would float down into a deposit and have it cleared in an less than an hour. (We really need that devil emote. As for the other design I mentioned it would be more of one to clear an area for it or go mine an asteroid that landed.

as my posts at RvB forum needs mod approval and I can't start editing (I have bit hurry as I now have some time in hand which I want to use to do the design as mush as possible) I posting the same(ish) reply here @MechPilot524 , @Methodik I read through the Test server thread but I need to know the following in detail to start designing (there are few mention about themes but very superficially) 1. Theme of each quadrant (visual theme) 2. difficulties of each playfield 3. POIs of each sector 4. Resources and Mobs of each playfield also I would rather send the playfield files to someone else for upload to the server as I am not confident with my knowledge about server my take on solar system map...each quadrant should only have one point of entry....resource and AS entry point should be heavily AI defended and RED/BLUE/GMT entry point should have no defense at first...the clan member should build those over time
After those NPCs guarding the Choke Point are defeated, a Faction could build better Defenses there & permanently Turtle & Puppy Dog those Gates then Snowball to Victory... I think avoiding that was the whole point of the Multiple Entry Points.
when I said NPC defense.... I meant Admin defense which cant be destroyed also single point of entry in not about defending that sector (metal and the green one), but to force players to use a single point of entry so people form other factions can meet ...else all player would stay inside there faction planets /nearest route and hardly meet each other outside planned events...no ambush/ no unplanned war... BUT that is not important ... how map looks can change very easily ...most important right now for me to know what I posted two post ago... I atleast need to know the theme to start building them..I can populate resources mobs and POI later
Well, in case you want some initial ideas I'm very sure there are many ideas in I believe is the blueprint section of the forums. Eleon always seems to want more POI's for their new planets, why not use a few unused ones? I can also guarantee that before beta ends for this game planets will be resized, green wall removed and borders removed. It may even be done before the end of Alpha, but I wouldn't bet to highly on it.
Ya make it sound like no one's ever thought of trying to Bum Rush Resources intended for other Players & trying to Ninja Nab them first... I CAN'T be the only one who's ever tried pulling this... Also if the NPC Defenses at those Choke Points are Admin Powered, thus Invincible, then are those Resource Quadrants being built then having their ever being POSSIBLE to get to & from to get those Resources intended to be forgone? Then why are they even there?
