IMHO a Hover Tank should have a good number of Turrets on it... a Hover War Tank should have Max number of Turrets possible on it & be damn huge! That reminds me... i'm late working on trying to make a better Hover War Tank. Mining HVs coming out kinda distracted me.
Having started this Akua game with nothing out of the escape of except the gun and bullets, I have decided I really like playing scavenger style. Knowing I had to make every bullet from every gun I found count forced me to (a) use shotguns, the gun I tend to neglect the most, and (b) be smart, and do my best to duck in and out of deserted civilian POI's with 2-3 rocket drones trying to pen me in. I really felt like the planet's overloads were trying to get me, with drone presence and respawn speed on high. Well, after scouring several poi's I finally found a core. Now I just need to find a place with a constructor I can claim, and hope I can defend these alarmingly fragile civilian bases long enough to get established. I'm already level 7 from just exploring, picking flora, and shooting drones.
I built a houseboat just to enjoy the sounds of Oscutune. I did have to build a farm ashore because ATM Oscutune is a bit light on edible vegetation. It's a nice, relaxing place. Now that Warp is changed I may revisit basing there.
I tried. Somehow, a hexagonal waterwheel with no paddles didn't look quite right. I anxiously await the inclusion of wheels and cylinders in the game!
Thank you, but I decided to call it a weasel. Weasels are small, long, & cylindrical carnivores that have no issues going into tunnels in search of prey. I thought it was appropriate. Thank you.
Cool name. This ship looks like it belongs in a space Anime cartoon and I think that is why I like it so much. Nice design !!
I found this beast of a ship on the workshop. I don't think its a 1 to 1 scale but it's big enough to hold at least 4 SVs in it's hangar bay. I had to play the sound track to the Stargate movie while I played with this thing. lol It's the best version of this ship I've seen. I love that we have so many SCI FI fans playing this game. I might have grab my Stargate atlantis Jacket I got off Ebay and play with this ship some more. lol
Discovered that a [Moderator] can use setposition and setrotation, but not mergestructs command :-( That was a lot of wasted typing and watching 2 BA parts dance around on the screen and also rotate all on their own accord annoyingly for some reason too. Failure to read on my part.
Literally just the day before yesterday. I tried to make my own Single Drill HV, then just couldn't not overdo it at trying to get to fancy schmancy, then it was so big a failure it couldn't even tip down to begin a diagonal forward/down hole... I gave it the flunk & blew it up. For the Topic: I have begun play on Mr. Fun's Server, "WASD Games", & taken up the Post of (Jr.) Admin. Notable Events of my first few hours of play on it: (I chose to start on Akua cause it has seriously honestly been entire MONTHS since my last serious Survival Mode Play, so I opted for the 'humble path'.) I played till Game Evening & wasn't really ready for the night life, but I noted I had accrued quite a number of 02 Bottles, so I opted for the strategy of sticking my Helmet on, dunking underwater, then spent the entire Game Night swimming around for Seaweed. By the end, turned out it was enough Seaweed to take my Biofuel Supply up to 22 Containers of it. I managed to locate & mine up a bit of Promethium for down the road, then encountered a poorly skillfully partially mined out Magnesium Vein (Com'on peoples! TOP to BOTTOM... ) & finished it off, minus a couple floating bits of it my T1 Drill couldn't clean up & would need a T2 Drill I didn't have yet for, then had a bugger of a time locating Iron, & when I finally did it was a deliciously huge supply... almost on the Doorstep of a Alien POI... I plotted & schemed & then determined I was able to sneak around the POI Perimeter keeping out of sight of it by sneaking around a hilly shore & found a good place to begin Drilling into the Vein & Mined out the WHOLE thing. Yep, me still being Glitched in the Head, check. During the Drilling out of the Vein, I was plotting & scheming how i'm gonna deal with trying to get off that Starter Planet & into the closest non-"-R" Playfield, Aeris Orbit, as I have till Monday 10 AM to accomplish this before the Weekly Monday Starter Playfields Reset which I assume will nuke my Character & everything he has into the ground if I don't, then decided my best course of action was to *Pow* Doh! I accidentally jumped a tad too high & gave the Alien POI LoS of me for a sec & almost got shot. >_< Need to be more careful with my Jetpack Jumping. Ok, where was my Plotting & Sche... oh yeah! How to blow this joint & hope RL will even LET me get it done in time. I decided that after I finished off that Iron Vein figuring i'll need all the Iron I can get, I was gonna Mole Tunnel to the underside of the Base & take it from below. Lots of digging later, (Went from 22 Biofuel all the way to 6 left by the time both the Vein & Mole Attack were done.) I took the POI. It kindly donated me a Large Constructor & i've taken the Base as my own Temp Base & renamed it such, & have set up temp digs there to prep to make a baby Survival SV slap together then need to figure out a strategy for a slap together CV... I'm also working on getting to know the Server & the cool peeps on it.
The 6 and 7 year old were playing co-op last night and set up a parkour course. They made a platform-shaped SV, blueprinted it, and spawned a bunch of them in the lava. The SVs float to the top so they were using those to try to run and jump across the lava lakes without falling in. I might have to use this idea in a future build. Like some floating SVs that are just decorations, or floating HVs that are defense turrets.
That's a cool creative idea! They'd kick the snot outta me at that activity. I've always sucked at Platforming.
Mines too. Stargate knew how to make scenes like that Epic just like the first time they showed Altantis rising out of the ocean. The music and the visuals were just EPIC.
I was tooling around in godmode today, scouting things out for a project. I had taken an SV up to the Trade Station in orbit above Akua and was walking around inside when a Freighter passed by the station and shot up the SV I had docked outside. The freighter was plastering the Trading Station pretty good too, though it didn't seem to take any damage. It was quite funny. (Well, because I was in godmode and could spawn anything I wanted.) If I had been playing I might not have found it as entertaining. I'd have been thinking "what did I do to that freighter" or "what did the Trading Station do to the crew of that freighter?"
Honestly, these things are supposed to be Freighters, but I swear their Captains act like Pirate Captains. XD For the Topic: I've begun a new Mad Empyrion Science Mining HV with the aim that i've caught myself red handed in the act of getting too comfortable in my "Comfort Zone" & it's constraining & interfering with my Creativity too much, so i'm using this Build as a Battle against this problem in an attempt to defeat it. When I get too comfortable in my Comfort Zone, it gets me prone to keep trying to get away with doing certain things the same way which one will eventually run out of different ways of working with it, & as a Creator, no good can come of this, so i'm rearing my Dragon Fangs at this problem & seeking to bite it in the ass. Plus i'll be needing a (hopefully cool) effective PvP Oriented Mining HV for my WASD Games play sooner or later. (Thinking for SV, i'll use Big Jack for those above mentioned Weapon Experiments i've been needing to do for both checking out live usage of various weapons like the Plasma Cannons and what my Playstyle does & does not seem to mesh well with, including FINALLY being able to investigate more fully the Rail Gun Rework.) Then eventually i'm gonna be needing to build me a HV & SV hauling CV.
The Freighters are tired of being picked on and have decided to shoot first and ask questions later. lol Usually these freighters run into one of my CVs with plenty of cannons and rocket turrets so they don't last that long but the larger Freighters are pretty tough. I tried to take out a bigger freighter with my SV and I had to retreat .lol Oh and now that more freighters have space drones escorting them it can turn into a real battle but it's fun.
I've been pondering some ideas with those - forgetting the whole "freighter" idea and creating some patrol frigates for "more hostile" systems.
