Hey, not sure which Verion that was. Its much better with saving now, but not perfect. We still wait for some outcome with the other Playfield Generator or if not work with the devs on it. The Graphics: we know, sorry. Was just a quick implementation to have something to make it easier. If we continue this with the devs we will rework everything.
Thank you, Hoping to see what your final product is, as this does give a good representation of the system layout and could simplify things a lot.
Great idea, and thanks for the all the work. I have a silly Noob question, though --- Will this EPG concept work on singleplayer survival offline (ie -- the standard game without servers)? I am a solo player, and any custom playfields I have developed are at the risk of being overwritten by game updates, or breaking the base game. (One of the things I deeply miss in the basic Empyrion game is the ability to choose a different folder for playfields etc. when in solo offline survivor play.) Sorry for such a simple question.
Just FYI new Version 1.04 is out. Proper announcment comes later. Patch Notes: http://eah.empyrion-homeworld.net/download/patch-notes-emp-playfield-generator Download: http://eah.empyrion-homeworld.net/download
Hi guys, There is an issue - when loading a early generated map... It doesn't seem to work. I still can change everything through left menu, but map... Change location on 40-playfileds sector through coordinate editing as bad as creating a new one. Ver 1.04, Win 7.1 x64
You only have NS coordinates set. Just switch to "front view" over button on bottom right. Then you see it and zoom a bit in since your coordinates are quite smal numbers.
Patch Notes - 19.01.2016 - v1.04.0: Hey guys, here comes the regular announcement. With 5.1 there was one of the biggest feature regarding universes implemented: to allow or deny specific warp ways. So Jascha implemented it into the tool. Later we can also have this via GUI. Patch Notes Emp Playfield Generator Added: Alpha 5.1 Added: Read/Write Allow/Deny, but no Edit yet ---
Zooming doesn't change anythng, coordinates on sides can be changed in playfield view, and they stay the same after switching to sector view and can't be changed. Playfield wiev working, sector is not.
Hey thanks a lot for the video. Yeah that does not look right. Stragne though. What about later when you klicked on the secotr view. if you then switch to front view, and zoom further in? But I will take a look at it, what might go wrong. I dont have the same problems. Maybe something in the sector.yaml makes problems.
This happened due update reasons. Can you please use just a standard sectors.yaml and load it via the tool and see if it is still messed up with version 1.04? Also you can send me the sectors.yaml and I look into it. From experience this was the case with version 1.03 so I had to restore my sectors.yaml.
Nothing happens =(( I hope so, cuz that can be fixed much faster Loading default sectors.yaml is ok, everything works well. In 1.03 and 1.04 works the same. Attached my unfinished Sectors.yaml you requested. I can't see any logs in EPG to diag and/or attach anything else.
Your yaml has an error: Please enter a valid Playfield at line 99/100: I will catch that exception in the next Version. Sorry for the trouble
I've found another issue =) When I load and chenged something in playfield, unchanged settings drpped when saving. For example, I change a playfield biome without changing it's name. When saved I've got unnamed playfield with new biome in the same place. Also, when enter a space playfield with modified sectors.yaml I catch an exception. i've got an idea for you RexXxuS, maybe you could update the generator so it will take a .jpg file as background, so i could kinda paint a map (or use picture from google) and move the planets/systems to match the map ... this would be great for me, since i want to build a certain map for my playfield i hope this is not too complicated...
I'm happy to announce that we will start working on the tool again. For some time we thought that others will do that work for us (so we paused), but obviously it did not last very long until they stopped again. Therefore we will do a complete rework and try to extend it with a basic playfield.yaml editor for the start. This project is on 2nd place after the main tool. Therefore there will be some pauses inbetween. But we do our best to keep it going from now on. Thanks for your patience!
Patch Notes - 17.02.2016 - v1.05.0: Hey guys, and here we go. This is the beginning of a more frequent update series with a lot more features to come. For now: enjoy the Allow / Deny support! Patch Notes Emp Playfield Generator Added: Allow/Deny Added: New way of Reading Yaml Added: Origins Fix: nasty empty Orbit bug ---
Hello, Thank's for it but already not reading R G B colors from original Sectors.yaml on /Content/Sectors. I can't use this tool. More, after have saved Sectors.yaml, this file is completly broken.
I still can't reproduce this If I change the color manually in the sectors.yaml and click Load in the EPG, then I get the udpated color in the tool displayed. Yeah the yaml file is now a bit different formatted after the save. Nothing to worry about.
Hello, So, it is not working for french people on windows seven 64 professionnal OS. EDIT : OK, i tried to reload a yaml that was saved with this tool. It seems that it can read it but always colors not read... I tried to modify colors R : 0.02 G : 0.03 on Aestus Orbit. It was written on the file the first time but cannot loaded ( always set to "0"). So even i try to set again colors with your new file generator, i will have to reset color each time i use this program. My question is : Is there any other french people using this tool anywhere that can test it ? EDIT2 : Seems to have problems with allow/deny too... Loaded from original file but not working anymore with generated file. No, it is working.
