Thank you for the suggestion, I'll look up LiftPizza's work. This is the first game where my bases are more than just enough concrete blocks to keep the drones from hurting anything until I find and loot their base so I have a long way to go with design. I'm hoping to get better at it as I proceed with my around-the-solar-system tour. I'm always hoping for more block shapes as well.
finally built a very basic cv, went to the moon. some dude flew over, blew it up, and left. now im stranded. dear person that did that: fuck you
I have been stranded a few times. Now days I have a cheap escape vehicle blueprint I keep pre-built in the factory to spawn when it happens.
Wanted to build a CV This is planned to be a player ship (for me...) and its larger than my usual "as efficient as possible" base ships. It also has far more than my usual 2 or 3 turrets. There is a hangar for around 4 SVs / HVs - but the interior is not finished. It can land on a planet and will get a custom build base with a ramp so that a HV can enter the hangar. I think about making a POI version of the ship that I can conquer. Since this isn't possible in game I could remove the POI and spawn in the CV version of the ship to simulate a take-over. I am not totally happy with the exterior since the "utility area" is 3 blocks wide to accomodate a turret. Now if I only use medium thrusters I would have to use a lot. L thrusters don't look good as they are 2x2 blocks and XL are definitly too large, thats total overkill. Well, for the first pass its good enough.
Same here. Even when my CV is parked planet side. It's cheap insurance. I've had POIs begin shooting at me before they appeared on the map. Walking home is such a drag.
& yet, where is the fun in that? Meh. I dare you to Chainsaw down an Armored Golem, with Vid for Proof. Theoretically one could make their House/Base with a Concrete Exterior Shell & use Wood for the Interior... That's a Hot Springs Spa? I thought it was the top of a steaming hot cup of Coffee.
I continued working on the 1x SV and found out that, if you put one layer of thinplate on the bottom, it will never be smaller than a BA/CV cube because of the way the game allocates space with thin blocks. I tried multiple configurations, and always got something taller than a BA/CV cube. Two of my tries are below. So I finished it off, and managed to cram an additional light block and rocket launcher into it. Lets hope the dev's can correct the issue with thin blocks, I can imagine someone flying this right through a door on one of the POI's. It reminds me of the EG-6 power droids from Star Wars. Now to see what armoring it does to the performance... Thanks for the idea again Alwayssleepy, I really hope you do not mind what I did with it. If you wish, I can add you as a contributor on the blueprint.
*Wonders if the new Triangle Counting thingamajig doodad from the Recent Update will make this Creation Classify as a Size 10 Craft...*
Yes, This is Japanese map symbol to originally. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_map_symbols It is became an emoji character. http://emojipedia.org/hot-springs/ cup of coffee is here. http://emojipedia.org/hot-beverage/ Open cockpit is 3x height from small block. If you want through 1 height large block(4x small blocks), landinggear necessary set to just under cockpit. I appreciate your consideration, but contributor not need. Let's have fun! I wish yours understand to my poor english.
Well, I did two thing today. Our group finally got our base built again after a couple of 5.x-inspired restarts of the server, so we're finally ready to explore. I also got around to publishing a bunch of my creations to the workshop. Actually played with them before publishing to make sure they were worthy. Its been a lot of fun.
Wow, I never knew about this before. Many thanks for the info! For the Topic: I tried again at working on my CV Build, Empyrion Froze within 30ish seconds & I had to have my OS close it, then I tried out this 2 buck game named Waveform that looked interesting & low risk to buy, decided I might screw around with it from time to time but i'll never stand a chance at beating it, then hopped onto Starbound for the night for the first time in ages. THEY STILL HAVEN'T FIXED THE DAMN PAINT GUN BUG!!? *Facepalm* @EleonGameStudios An idea: Go to the Starbound Devs & teach them how to kill Bugs & in turn, maybe they can teach ya how they did that Steam Split thing to make their Game's Stable Branch & their Unstable/Nightly Branch separate so that peeps could have separate Characters & Worlds between them so the 2 Different Code Bases can't Cross-Contaminate each other...
Not today but what I did yesterday: We have finally conquered Arkua and realized we need Sathium Ore, so we prepared everything, from food to medi-kits, o2, fuel. I prepared my ship and organized Ammuntion for my 2x Gattling Guns, while my gf prepared the food and o2. I setup the Ship with the Ammo and Fuel and took a test ride. It took us a good 2 hours to prepare everything, also in Emergency Cases. So our SV was ready for departure and the moon was in the Sky. She took her seat while I was the Captain, and so we took off. Once we reached the Moon we got attacked by Anti-Air Turrets, but my flying skills could outmaneuver the green-yucky-plasma shots from the Turrets. I flew over the Moon and discovered some POI's and Ressources and we settled on a nice almost flat Surface. My GF had a small base ready for deployment, while I had a mining vehicle ready. Couple of hours later, we got our Sathium and I build a CV, with a SV being placed in the Hangar, only the Weapons are missing, which will be added in the next couple of days as we prepare to venture in the far deeps of space to find new colonies, explore vast and dangerous planets in our ultimate journey to build a massive CV and setup a big base in order to dominate the Galaxy and build an Empyrion, while we battle for our Galactical Survial ! OneHundretMoons out
*cracks knuckles* You're on! If I die, sing glorious, yet silly songs about one mans stupidity! EDIT: I've just realized, I've never actually faced one of those before. This gives me an excuse to go exploring! This is what I get for just building stuff in creative!
Well the Ghost rider base and a couple of drones just took my ship. So for right now I am the moon until I can build another ship. lol I decided to dig out parts of that CV POI that is on the Moon and use it as my base. Which comes in handy. I have my normal constructor with me so I rebuilt my advanced constructor, a core and a generator then added a couple of turrets. The lighting inside this ship is pretty cool . I just wished they would let you dig the whole thing out and fly it but you could only use it as a base. Unless someone knows away I can turn this into my CV because I tried adding a cockpit and putting down different cores but it will only work as a base.
This weekend I built a 2-man hover tank and worked on the rebuild of my CV. Almost done. Painted the bottom, finished the hangar and engineering. tonight I work on workshop and command, then maybe the first pass of paint. Hover Tank CV - Hangar is big enough for my miner and the tank to go in end-to-end. Regards,
