Remember, its experimental, and there will be bugs. Report them if you can, and this will help the devs tackle them.

Be sure to back-up any saves, just in case you want to go back to 7.6 after playing around with the Alpha 8 Experimental version. You can actually just add the number 7 to your current folder in ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival, and rename it. Then Steam will download the experimental version, with a clean install. Then, when done, you can go between the two at your leisure

In steam, select the Empyrion Galactic Survival game, and right click, open properties, and select the beta tab. In the scroll box, select Experimental Test Branch, and voila, your download will begin the next time you start the game.
