it is basically a hover vessel exclusive turret that does not shoot creatures, but only shows the player where those creatures are nearby - for example in the darkness, or inside a lush forest maybe it is not only directing a laser light on the creatures but also a reflector (or maybe the reflector is optional) i find that creatures are very easy to shoot down using turrets, but that gives no experience to the player, so a turret that is only showing where the creature is, but is not shooting at it will make it possible for the player to shoot it itself further imagination of how this turret should work: beside the optional reflector (light) there is like a straight line from the turret to a single creature noticed targeting: so in case multiple such turrets are present on the hover vessel, the creature that is targeted already is marked, such that the other pointers try to find a creature that is not pointed at already - suggestion: for the entire hover vessel in case it is equipped with such turret, there is an instance of an array that is turret amount length, and that lists the closest turret amount of creatures that are not the same - one creature for each turret - so each turret will only point at its own creature, not a creature that is pointed at already by another turret if the player is sitting inside the cockpit while this "hunting light" can see something, then that thing is going to notify the player with like a hud element like an arrow or so, such that the player can see that its hunting light has found something while the player is in first person mode sitting inside the cockpit. when the player is not sitting in the cockpit, it can still see the laser light, and possibly the reflector light in case it is turned on (contrary to let us say night vision) - so there is no reticle, neither highlighting of creatures, only the light that points towards those in case any is nearby
