If this was deliberate, it has created a large inconsistency between the appearance of blocks vs textured equipment like thrusters. Description: It looks like the AO darkness bleed effect is back near where it was when the shader update was released, at least on textures. I'm hoping this was an accidental reversion, but regardless it has created a very large inconsistency as shown in the picture below. Steps to Reproduce: Spawn the attached CV on a planet Change the time of day and observe the AO effect changes on the textures Screenshots: The left column is a stack of small thrusters. The right column is a stack of steel blocks with the same texture and orientation applied. You can clearly see the difference in contrast in the texturing.
