When a GLOBAL UPDATE comes out - there is a need to conduct a WIPE - so that the new changes correctly take effect (!) But at the same time - the players' databases are completely reset - players are forced to lose EVERYTHING (!) (To lose bases / ships / things) I have already suggested 2 times - how you can SAVE / RETURN your property after a wipe. This is my 3rd suggestion: From old suggestions: Earlier I suggested this - after the wipe, the player appears on a new starting planet (these are new coordinates). The player enters the command "RETURN ship / base ID", and it appears in the player's library, ready to spawn (!) This is UP-TO-DATE, since the developers NOW can save the ship ID / base ID / items in containers INTO a SEPARATE FILE, so that in case of errors on the servers, return the player's ship / base (and items in containers) to the player ... in other words - THERE IS A POSSIBILITY RETURN his ship / base / things to the player, BUT YET, AFTER WIPE DO NOT DO IT (!) (Sadness) (but it can be done easily, then why not?!) Now from the new suggestions: On different servers I've met - virtual storage (!) The player in the chat -> the server tab => could write "cb: vbp", a window with cells opened (as in the constructor), and there you can put ANY OBJECTS (ore / metal ingots / pentaxid / weapons / ammunition / other) (!) And when the player got into a difficult situation, he could open this virtual storage, and take everything he needed (!) So - to get most of my stuff back AFTER WIPE - I suggest: 1) OFFICIALLY INCLUDE IN THE GAME (multiplayer mode) "VIRTUAL STORAGE", which is called by command, for example "cb: vbp". This virtual storage should be in the form of a separate file, which is independent of the wipe (!) It is ALLOWED to put everything into this storage - weapons (even epic), armor, ore, ingots, food, and other items. 2) if before the wipe - the player visited the server "for 2 weeks", and has a ship / base, then after the wipe - disassemble them, and put the components in the player's factory (the player's factory should also be in the form of another section within the file from point 1) , and not depending on the wipe). And the contents of containers from the base or ship => move to the "virtual storage" (the volume of such a virtual storage = 320,000 units of volume .... ok - as a compromise = 150,000 units of volume. number of virtual storage cells = number of cells as in "container controller") 3) INTRIGA - but in order to get access to your virtual storage after the wipe - you can visit any trading station and pay the "banker" several hundred credits Result (total): after the wipe - Players will be able to regain ALL PROPERTY (ships / bases in the form of a filled factory, can be sent for crafting), and items / resources - get them from the virtual storage (!) For the server - there will be no unnecessary buildings (bases / ships) left after long non-visits; the server has a limit on the maximum number of players online (40, or 200 people), so having several such files with backup storage of data about the player's property is NOT a CRITICAL PROBLEM for server owners (!) (smile)
