A local colonist base is 2.5km away with this non-ore asteroid and I can't dig it. I went to another and couldn't dig that either. Is asteroid digging coming back or did it never exist?
Yeah, I ran into that the other day, needed a bunch of stone for a concrete base. Instead of trying to get it on land I launched into space with my miner and ran into the same problem. Could have swore we used to be able to mine stone form non ore bearing asteroids in space. Might have been thinking of Space Engineers though lol.
Hi guys, maybe in very old alphas it was possible to dig asteroids with avatar miner... but... to be honest, since the dawn of time I'm digging asteroids with SV or CV. To me is even more 'realistic' but in any case is great because you have huge quantity extracted and it will be automatically inserted into the SV or CV ore container.
If this is one of the near-countless, decorative "flavor" asteroids, then as far as I can recall, you can't just convert these into Crushed Stone. Only the voxel asteroids, on which one or more ores are actually found can be mined. It's near impossible to tell what you're trying to mine from your screenshot. That said, I am fully in favor of fewer "flavor" asteroids, and more voxel-asteroids, even ones that actually contain no ores, but are just hunks of minable Crushed Rock.
