This happened to me in build 3254 as well (landed in Talon territory in the middle of a raptor swarm). Steps to Reproduce: Start a new game.
The swamp starter is configured to not use a fixed location for the escape pod. Not sure if this is intended or not but that's the reason why.
Thats odd, because the new game I started today put me near the station. Of course there was something else I did not need to see.
If no location is specified, it spawns you on the daylight side of the planet near dawn. When it spawned you on the wrong side, was it still dawn or was it night?
Sorry for the late reply, your post gave me an idea and I just tested it. I played a creative game for about half an hour, then started a new survival game and had the issue. I used debugmenu and checked the game time, it was around 28000 I then shut the game down, restarted and then started a new survival game. I did not have the issue, and the game time was around 9000. Nutshell, the game time was not reset when I started the survival game and had the issue. It was continuing from the previous game.
This might be related to the bug where configs from one save game will get loaded into another save game for example when swapping what scenario or server you play on. Good find there!
I am changing the Reproducibility to always. I did the same experiment in 3260 and spawned on the wrong side of the planet again.
