I recently started playing the game and have enjoyed playing in survival mode with my brother and friends. But I recently got into space and started exploring around and I've run into an issue that is quickly putting this game into the "Forget about and never bother with again" category. That is warping. Now, I'm getting up there in years. I was a teen when Star Wars first released. I've watch just about every sci fi space series there is and lost count of the movies I've watched. Unless it was for a plot point, I've never seen a ship warp/jump/hyperspace into dangerous space. In just about every space based game I've played, I've never had to worry about warping, randomly, into dangerous space. But in just a few days time, in this game, I have warped into a sector and gotten my ass blown away and ships completely destroyed within 15 seconds 3 times in different sectors. But wait. That is only the times I got blown away. There have been several other instances where I have managed to get away with just a bit of damage (one time the entire aft-starboard quarter of my ship was gone). It's getting very frustrating and gets even more frustrating when you've got a full cargo hold and you lose it. I would understand it if I was playing a mission where it was possible I would be jumping into a hot zone. But I would think that by the time people can "warp" between planets that they would have computers that can track orbital stations and come into a sector safely and not on top of a hostile station bristling with missile launchers
This has never happened to me on a vanilla server but If you press x while beginning to warp your shields will come on before you enter the sector
