Hopefully it will let me post this here.

As I was just generally playing the game, I noticed some random shadows appearing near my weapon and HUD stats.

It appears to look like water overflow, but as this is inside my base, and I've seen this on snow covered mountain tops, as well as it changes depending on screen orientation (mostly when looking down towards the ground) I think it's some kind of shadow overflow. I truly have no idea. If interested, I can jump in and stream publicly so this can be seen and observed live. It's easily replicateable.

I am also observing this behavior, but I had not yet identified a cause. It moves and morphs in a fluid fashion that is not polygonal as you pan around the viewport. I don't know that it's connected to water, but coincidentally a new behavior was added to water just about the same time that this behavior first appeared, so are they connected?

  4. It goess away if you turn water quality to low, so it is the cause.
It's present on both medium and high.

Water quality is the only setting that affects it. Tested them all last night.

I can't recreate the symptom just by changing the Water Quality to High. What other conditions might be necessary to trigger it?

  6. Okay, so today I can't replicate it. Hmm...
Yesterday it was happening even through exiting to desktop, single player, and 2 different servers.
It was happening on new and old game saves alike.
I could easily start and stop it just by changing the water quality and looking downwards.

Now I can't get it to trigger anymore. I just tried 2 new games, 2 old games, and 2 different servers.
I know for sure that changing the water quality stopped it, I just can't figure out how to trigger it to start again.

I'll update here if I figure out repro steps. For now just ignore my previous post.

What I was seeing yesterday was greenish blobs in the bottom left and right corners, blobs that changed size and shape while looking around and looking downwards. They couldn't be seen when looking forwards, only downwards.
It stopped on low water quality and started on medium and low.
