I want to add more planets in my scenario but it was really hard to create orbits in the sector. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1236540276 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1207226901
You will need the software EmpPlayfieldGenerator in other to do that, really easy with this software to place and align planets around the sun. https://empyriononline.com/threads/tool-emp-playfield-generator-epg-v1-06-1.7029/ Cheers,
Thank you for your reply, it was really nice. I found it yesterday but I think it does not work or I need to learn more about it. I can not load the file from the Sectors folder. I get the message "file not found." When I try to open the Sectors folder with EMG, it will appear blank page.
Did you try opening the sectors file from "Empyrion_data\sectors" or from "EmpyrionDedicated_Data\sectors" ? I tried with the "EmpyrionDedicated_Data" folder and it works.
If you open the program and hit on the setting icon you can tell the program where the folder of the playfield and sector are then it will load those one. Cheers,
Strange, there are no folder sectors in EmpyrionDedicated_Data or Empyrion_Data. That could be the fault of my data.
To edit "stock" sector: Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Sectors To edit scenarios: Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Scenarios\Dawn of Galaxy\Sectors Substitute DoG folder for other scenarios as needed The above are edits that will affect any new games started after the edits... and will potentially be wiped out each patch. Copy an existing scenario you want to use as a base into the Content\Scenarios\ directory and call it something like Content\Scenarios\mytestscenario This will make it more permanent- and forgiving of mistakes because you can easily restore from the original... and take it from someone who's been modding games off and on since Baldur's Gate... you'll make mistakes
Just have Steam verify game files and see if the "sectors" folder appear (with a "sectors" file) then try opening that folder in the editor. If you want to edit orbits in a singleplayer scenario then I think the editor may not help you, as it is for multiplayer. But you can at least have a look at what the editor does when adding planets and orbits and then replicate this in your scenario's "sectors" file.
Thank you Brimstone, ha ha I make mistakes all the time, I can not program, I can only copy lol, but I'm learning on the way.
Thank you so much for the help, I'm investigating and trying so far I can not find the folder. You may be correct that it only works with multiplayer Dediced Server because when I try to retrieve sectors from the folder it says: "Pleas insert the Empyrion -Game floder (steamapps / common / Empyrion-Dediced Server)"
What version of the game are you playing ? Some (many) patches ago the dedicated server files (EmpyrionDedicated_data - required for coop) were included in the main Empyrion folder, along with the singleplayer Empyrion_data.
I play the game with version 7.5.7 1433 I have in the folder EmpyrionDedicated_Data: Managed Mono plugins Resources app.info boot.config globalgamemanagers globalgamemanagers.assets level0 as in the Empyrion_data folder. and my scenario is in: C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Empyrion - Galactic Survival \ Content \ Scenarios \ Conquer__1207226901
I just checked and... I am terribly sorry : the "sectors" file should be in Empyrion\Content\Sectors. ------------------------------- I think that when you start the EmpPlayfieldGenerator for the first time, it asks for the EmpyrionDedicated_Data folder... am I right ? And if this step is successful, you can then proceed to load your custom scenario data. ------------------------------- But the editor opens the "sectors" file no problem here. You may try to manually add the path to your scenario's folders in the playfield generator, by clicking on the "settings" button at the bottom of the program window, like @ZzzSmileYzzZ suggested. For example, I have a scenario called "KassWorld" with custom sectors and playfields. I open the EmpPlayfieldGenerator, click on "settings", and the two fields appear, which I will edit so they include my scenario: Sector file : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Scenarios\KassWorld\Sectors\Sectors.yaml Playfield-Biome folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Scenarios\KassWorld\Playfields\ Close that window, then click on "load" at the bottom left.
that's ok i'm grateful for the help in setting: EmpAdminHelper Config Sector file C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Empyrion - Galactic Survival \ Content \ Scenarios \ Conquer__1207226901 \ Sectors \ Content \ Sectors \ Sectors.yaml Playfiled -Biome rivers C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Empire - Galactic Survival \ Content \ Scenarios \ Conquer__1207226901 \ Sectors \ Content \ Playfields \ I Close that window, then click on load at the bottom left and a message box will appear : "File not found"
Your scenario folder structure is strange... I showed in red the folders that you should remove. When making a scenario, you should have the following folder structure: 1-your main scenario folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Scenarios\Conquer__1207226901\ 2-in this last folder Conquer__1207226901, have the following folders and files: Configuration Extras (if you want a custom PDA) Playfields (this is where you put your playfields, inside their respective folders) Prefabs (for blueprints specific to your scenario) Sectors (this is where you put your "sectors.yaml" file) Terrains (optional - I put my custom terrains and various images in there) preview.jpg (an image to show in the game main menu when choosing the scenario) Description.txt (a short description of your scenario which will also show in the game menu) Don't put spaces in the paths, preceding and following "\". You can look at the other scenarios in the "content\scenarios" folder and just follow their folder & file structure.
