Is it at all possible and if so what file contains the data to edit the colour of the terrain ? For example, it would be really great if i could edit the colour RGB style of say Grass or the ground to a different colour. This would really allow for more diverse planets.
you can use the in-game terrain editor to achieve this. 'te' in console. There you can tint the textures, change saturation, ... /jmc
yeah ive been testing and this does exactly what i want thanks. To anyone that hasnt used this, you could in theory take a Desert planet and make the sand Blue ! The tool does it on an RGB slider you just need to match the ground terrain with the terrain selector and then edit away. Great feature ! It does give you the option to save but it looks like if you start a new game or if you run a server and do a wipe, the settings may need to be manually redone again, or am i missing something @jmcburn ?
I think it saves in the templates folder of the current savegame. You would need to copy it from there to a new template in the content/playfields folder to make it work with new games. /jmc
Terrain editor is love. Terrain editor is life. Terrain editor lets you have bioluminescent beaches on temperate planets.
