    G'day Folks,

I've spent a fair amount of time today trying to reacquaint myself with what's happened in Empyrion for the past year or so.

One thing I failed to locate is any form of roadmap / game vision for the game going forward. News & Announcements' most recent sticky is the graduation to release 1.0. There is nothing in the other forums that I can find either other than a posts about specific implementations like story advancement.

Does such a document exist for the player base?

    Nope. No information whatsoever.

As for the roadmap we got an answer in one of the stickied news threads that it would put too much pressure on them and it would eventually lead to them not being able to hold up to it in case some unforeseen things happen. This is kinda understandable but tbh i do not think a lot of people would seriously expect a "feature X will come on DD/MM/YY" kind of statement. They said we would get a "planned features" list but as far as i can tell we didn't get it.

Just hang there in the air with the rest of us, not knowing if they don't skip the "final release" altogether like they skipped the rest of the alpha and a proper beta and go straight to maintenance mode.
Or be gone from one day to the next. Which i kinda think is unlikely but given the zero-communication-policy that Eleon is having right now i do not deem it impossible either.

It is almost like the devs don't realize what kind of unique gem they're holding in their hands. In every corner you can see a glimpse of its beauty but as soon as you go back a step you see it buried under a lot of dirt.

It would probably seriously limit things if the roadmap was known too far in advance. That is how SW works in general. Right now a lot of us are coming to grips with some features added that are not well documented enough to use, so it's a big field really, with some ground not yet fully covered by the community with decals and custom images for projectors recently added is one example.

There is both a vision and a roadmap, but it is not shared publicly, because that's how they roll. I'm fine with it. It really cuts back on a lot of community complaining, when a Trello Roadmap says "We want to do X by Y", but it's "Z, and Y has passed and we still don't have X. OO gais is skammzing meh" posts, because people who spell like that simply cannot grasp the intrinsic issues that go into development, but they sure make a lot of noise no one wants to hear.

I still think a "we want to add this but we aren't gonna give a full date" is neccisary
this game is amazing but the lack of agnowledgement of our wishes as fans/players in any public way seems a tad silly
they don't have to have a curated and planned time list
just let us know what you think fits into your wishes as DEVs and what you have rejected as "not cohesive enough or lore-breaking"
I myself have offered very lore-tolerant ways to add fetures that the community clearly demands probably adding far too much detail but I never see that they even read my posts and it makes me feel ignored
make a simple checklist that is not ordered or time-limited for additions they have accepted as ideas and another with a simple list of ideas that are rejected and a simple reason they don't want it
telling us that they read our suggestions is only fair as we paid and some would love to keep paying if the game keeps getting better
