Hey guys, I haven't played this game in years. I just couldn't get into it when I tried because the world just seemed lifeless to me. Seemed like one tiny POI spaced out every 10 miles, with just barren land in between. Can anyone tell me if this has been changed at all?
Welcome to the forum mate. If you already have the game, then just give it a try. What have you got to loose. There have been quite a few updated in the past years.
changed? go download it. you will love it. don't want to spoil it for you. but its FAR FAR from lifeless.
Lots of POIs now. I also took a break from Empyrion for quite some time. I initially bought the game in one of the early stages, messed around with it for a few hours, got bored and gave up. I didn't play again until a couple of years ago. The game had changed quite a bit. Much more to do. I am about 860 hours in currently. The game still isn't 100% complete but new content is being added.
Hello SnowDizzle, since everyone is saying that everything is good and perfect well someone is needed to say also something else just a little forum balancing For sure Empyrion evolved a lot. The world now is definitely full of life but I'd stay with the exact word 'world': unfortunately universe has not. After some hours of play (4xx) I felt the very bad void sensation given to you by a game without a purpose: you can do almost everything in Empyrion but please don't ask yourself -> why should I do that? So on a single planet landscape the game is now almost perfect; on galaxies and universe landscape I felt the void sensation. Indeed as soon as you have a fully armed and upgraded CV you can go everywhere but a lot of POI will repeat themselves (i.e.: the Zirax shipyards are all the same or maybe I was very unlucky and by exploring more or less twenty systems I found exactly the same just by happenstance) and considering that the story is not yet finished and that a real secondary plot line is not defined you won't have any real reason for going somewhere. You can do space travel just for doing space travel or maybe just for cleaning galaxies from enemies but at the third or fourth time you'll find yourself exploring the same POI, killing the same enemies just to find useless loot (because unfortunately at that time you'll be at level cap with already everything you need) may generate some questions. Of course now you have also radiant and faction related quests but any other game would call that optional quests: that's because it's not enough to have those for encouraging people to continue with the game. Many people said that EGS is missing a real endgame (apart from the main plot ): to me the game is lacking also of a 'real' middle game because when you reach middle game you'll be at level cap without any more research to do and already with everything EPIC. That's my opinion of course: not a law just adding my 2 cents without saying just good things: Empyrion has a lot of this stuff anyway
haha. You are the only person who has mentioned "perfect", no one else has. The OP asked "Can anyone tell me if this has been changed at all?" as he hasn't played in years, and the answer is "yes" is has changed in the past few years and there is more to do. Since the question was posted over a month ago, it would be good to hear what the OP did and what he thinks.
Change your seed number, get new results. But yes, the game has, and continues to change, rather regularly.
