Ten videos into this single-player Let's Play, I figured it was time to tell people it existed. Some swearing in this episode. The hover vehicle stuck in the forest at the start is an H-78 Paladin, with minor modifications to allow the frontal gatling guns to be replaced with turrets; the SV I'm ineptly hurling around the sky at the Epsilon Fortress is an A-18 Stryker; both are Vexray's creations, from the Steam Workshop.
Episode 11 - Also Sprach Zarathustra In this episode, we take a look at our finished capital ship design, the A'Tuin Star Botherer, and then we take a look at its build cost. In desperation, we re-open the Abandoned Mine, and talk about Alpha 2.0 to pass the time while mining the rich veins of steel plate ore.
Episode 12 - Starting The Countdown Having finished mining the mine - and more besides - we fnd ourselves with ten hours to kill while A'Tuin is built, so we head off to secure a proper neodymium supply by starting the conquest of Akua Moon.
Episode 13 - Empyrion Welcomes Careful Drivers With eight hours left on the clock, we decide to spend our time productively, by doing some drugs and running around shooting things. Along the way we get into a high-speed crash, and stumble across a piece of our back-story (possibly).
Episode 14 - And Now We Press K The moment finally arrives to spawn Great A'Tuin, and leave Akua behind as we head out to conquer the galaxy. First, though, we have to dock our vehicles, and the hover physics system isn't going to let us go without a fight.
Episode 15 - Back In Action Having found a spot to park on Omicron, we waste no time in hopping into the Stryker and heading out to look for trouble. We soon find it in the shape of the Omicron Drone Base - which has some truly epic loot in store for us, if we can avoid suffocation, or falling to our death like a noob.
Episode 16 - Omicron Manor A vague idea about putting a base on every planet turns into a build of a two-storey manor house, complete with balcony, tower and soft furnishings.
Episode 17 - Foiled Again We return to the Drone Base to finish off the Troop Transport and examine the nearby Artifact, with less than great results; we then go and vent our frustrations on a handy Xenu Radar installation.
Our campaign of destruction on Omicron continues, as we hit the Xenu Vehicle Port - sadly, we don't find any vehicles there, but the combat is short and intense, and there's a fair bit of loot for such a small base. We'll never want for concrete and truss blocks again!
Episode 19 - Facing The Factory We pick up where we left off last episode, about to explore the Abandoned Factory. We run into some old acquaintances, some very big guns, and, for the first time, literally more loot than we can carry, even with two cargo boxes handy.
Episode 20 - Omicron Has Fallen With the Stryker starting to get a bit knackered from attacks by impudent drones, we bring in a new, bigger, heavier SV, the Crimson Razor from Jenniphurr's Zero-G workshop. After a fruitless bout of attempted tuning, we strike at the final POI on Omicron. Only Omicron Moon now stands between us and domination of the starter planets.
Episode 21 - Brand New Combine Harvester Having scourged the Xenu menace from...er...their world, we're ready to blast off to take control of Omicron Moon. First, though, we need to gather some wood to build a suitably stylish Moonbase, so rather than farm seaweed to make chainsaw fuel, we elect to disfigure the Paladin even further by ripping its nose off to make way for a nice big Harvester Module.
Episode 22 - Playing The Angles Finding that Omicron Moon is, at least for us, a carbon copy of Akua Moon, we nonetheless manage to change things up a little bit, by trying out a viewer-suggested base attack tactic, managing to find the core in the Ghost Rider Defence, and actually remembering to fully explore the Crashed Ship.
Very much so, I've been having a lot of fun with both. Neat idea doing the unarmed Starter Editions, by the way.
ah yea.. those are some older vessels, Im working on another scarab theme small SV to match the size of the Loriens Lorenza CV i build, will be out soonish, been concentrate on my server and planets lately.
I'll look forward to it. With a Stryker and Paladin already in the fleet, I guess I'm leaning towards that side of the conflict.
Episode 23 - The Imperial Senate Continuing our quest to put a fancy base on every planet, we establish our empire's rubber-stamping depot, the Imperial Senate, on Omicron Moon. Come watch two and half hours of video of me building and texturing, or click here if you just want to skip to the grand tour at the end.
Episode 24 - Station To Station This episode finally allows us to deploy a hip, groovy David Bowie reference we've been saving up - we travel from Omicron Moon to the Trading Outpost, and after a brief shufty at that, we head on to a meatier encounter with the Alien Outpost. Because we go from one station, to another station, you see. It's the name of a David Bowie album.
Episode 25 - Farming Power Coils One more little station to clear, and then it's off to Ningues. First we have a whizz around the Alien Outpost sector to make sure we haven't missed anything, and pop a few space drones as we go. And damn, but their loot is super juicy.
