Build: v1.5.5 3444 Mode: Survival Mode: Singleplayer (tutorial) SERVER NAME: n/a SEED-ID: 851489 If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: No Reproducibility: Always Severity: Major Type: Global? Gamestart? Summary: major FPS drop from 30+ to 5fps regardless of gfx quality settings Description: Nothing else on my system has changed the past few days, no Win 10 settings changed, no new apps or software installed. Only Empyrion updated. Game takes a much longer time to load, has "low memory detected". Game nearly unplayable with ~5fps in-game now on high or low settings. Previously had high framerate, 30-60fps on highest (custom) settings. All other apps are closed before running Empyrion. No background apps allowed (win10). Specs: Ryzen 7, 8gb, gtx 1060 4gb, page file 16gb. Same specs before and after update. No "low memory detected" errors ever noted before Empyrion update. No hardware or software changes. Steps to Reproduce: 1) load game 2) try to do anything 3) rue the day
I have noticed something similar also. I thought it was something on my system and I am on troubleshooting to pinpoint the culprit. It seems that the latest Unity update of the game brought except of new features, some extra burden for the old GPUs. My GTX 1070 feels it already. PS: I would like to use this opportunity to ask kindly Eleon to add a remark on Video settings description for those settings that need the game to restart in order to take effect. Bellow my Video settings : Lowered some a notch helps a little.
Same for me. Previously the game played smoothly, but since 1.5 I've got lots of video lag and FPS often drops to single digits. GTX 1070 here as well. Looking at prices for new video cards and holy CRAP THEY'RE EXPENSIVE NOW!
Laptop was unplugged, so even in high performance power mode it was throttling itself. Impressed that it lasted 2-3 days before I noticed a low battery warning.
No, he posted above that his laptop was unplugged so it was running in a power saving mode. The issue you linked seems to happen only on a dedicated server (really weird) and even I have been affected by it and I'm on a desktop.
