Updating this post finally. First: the speed in auto mode (holding trigger) matches up with the DPS fairly well, but...in single shot (one click of LB) just adds a lot of time to selected item salvaging for large jobs. Second: The random salvage return for materials (not whole blocks) seems to be acceptable; though the 33.3% return rate is and has been, IMO low. (when not testing, the percentage does warrant a visit to the config file.
