Build: 3282 Mode: Survival / Creative Mode: Single Player/Multi Player Reproducibility: Always Severity: Minor Type: Multitool / Device Block Limits Summary: The multitool will always enforce the max device block count during upgrades even if a game is configured to disable device block limits Description: If you are using the multitool's upgrade mode you can only upgrade devices up to the current device's block limit. This occurs even on games configured to disable block limits, where placing the upgraded components directly would be otherwise unconstrained. The case below reproduces this in vanilla using HV cockpits, but it is currently an issue we are seeing in Reforged-based scenarios when trying to upgrade T1 turrets to their T2 varieties. In this case a ship can be built with T1 turrets above the max block count, and in order to upgrade them all in survival we eventually have to start removing upgraded turrets so that the multitool can upgrade the rest. This is not intuitive behavior for the multitool. Steps to Reproduce: Load the attached single-player vanilla save. This game is configured with device block limits disabled. In front of you will be an HV platform with 3 cockpits (device limit is 2). The green cockpit has been upgraded to armored already. Switch the multitool to upgrade mode and you should be able to upgrade the yellow cockpit from standard to armored: After upgrading the yellow cockpit, attempt to next upgrade the red cockpit. This would be the 3rd armored cockpit on the ship, and the multitool will not allow you to go over the stock device limit of 2:
This could be an issue too for the default game if T2 turrets are ever added that are upgraded from the T1 versions.
