One of the biggest advantages of placing your own core on a building is that it allows you to harvest full blocks from that POI. However, if POI regenerations is on, you lose that ability since you cannot place your own core. You are forced to multi-tool harvest, which returns only a portion of the materials. I propose a new core be added to the game, that does allow placement on regenerative POI’s, so we can harvest full blocks. This core would be automatically removed when the POI regenerates, and also does not allow the user to place any new blocks. It would only allow harvest of full blocks.
Honestly... I suggest just allowing a multitool to perform salvage or block retrieval on stuff that doesn't have a core. I can't think of any good reason not to. It's just a minor nuissance to have to carry a core around to attach it to the side of a structure when you want to salvage blocks...
