Hello, Can you advise if this is how it is or if it is a bug. If it is how it is, then the detection range really needs to be increased; as you basically need to be in weapons range for the base to appear. They also didn't show up as a red icon for the few seconds it took to destroy my cv's. The same thing applies for poi's; you have to go into weapons range for the scanner to pick it up, even though you can see it miles away out of a window.
It's intentional that OP bases still have functional turrets (and unlimited ammo while in OP mode.) This is to help prevent enemy players from placing their own bases with turrets within firing range. It still has it's issues, but hopefully as they refine the mechanics we have and add new ones it can be changed to something else. I agree 10,000% about the HUD detection range vs turret firing range. To me it just feels like a super cheesy tactic to try and make the game seem more difficult.
Hi krazzykid2006, Thanks for the reply. Seams quite simple then, don't allow turrets to be placed within firing range of another factions base. I don't mind them being active, but you should be able to at least detect them further away than currently. You literally need to be on top of a base to detect it.
