It cannot. (English / US install) Description: When you get an open wound, hovering over the injury icon states "You got an open wound. Use Antibiotic Ointment, Bandages, a Health Pack or a Trauma Kit!". However, the Antibioitc Ointment only cures Dermal Burn, Frostbite, and Necrosis. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Get an open wound! 2) Hover over the icon for the open wound and check the help text 3) Hover over the tooltip for an antibiotic ointment and note the help text does not list "Open Wound" 4) Apply the antibiotic ointment to verify that it doesn't cure the open wound. -----------------------
