Player Space Stations that are usable (idea of what that means and limits)

    (First time posting, new player for 2 months who plays Single Player)

    Player built space stations that are in their own class could add to what I see some people wanting for more life in the empty space.

    We have Base, CV, SV, and HV and these make the world fun to be creative with. My suggestion is to add SS/SB, Space Station/ Space Base. Crazy idea I know but I have seen many people dock CV to CV with HVs docked to those and then truck them about safely. I have seen many people clear the area around the planet and declare it safe to leave things in orbit as they go to the ground. I have seen some people discuss the lack of Trading Stations. Mostly I see in videos how people say how fun it is early and mid but not late when they have good gear. A usable Space Station could change this in theory.

    Ideas/ suggestions for why Space Station:

    · Makes a location that is a gathering spot in space for multiplayer areas that is “Safe”

    · If space station has warp then could surpass the max of CV travel making traveling faster with multiple vehicles and resources.

    · Space builds don’t just stay and become a waste as the player advances and is forced to leave the current model behind.

    · Space station could allow for buildable (maybe received from the factions when in good standing) a trading booth / floor plan with faction people and security of that faction.

    · Space Stations could be a target for enemy factions to attack as if on planet but with enemy CVs warping in. This could be an awesome space battle, maybe friendly factions with booths call in / offer at a fee the option of friendly CVs to help

    · CV repair in space

    · Floors/Booths/Areas with friendly factions could be where missions pop up that are repeatable every so many days and or offer missions that are just top tier extreme suicide missions with high rewards if done right

    · All normal base functions

    · Change the player knowing what is on each planet to unknown till the Space Station Scans the new area, and alerting enemy CVs nearby. This could be an interesting way making exploration of more planets and areas more common.

    · This could add to the Role Play factor as it makes trying to balance faction trading areas with whose security people are going to fight who.

    · Dock multiple CVs and travel at once with having to do multiple trips or modifying CVs so they dock each other.


    Ideas for limitations of Space Station:

    · EXPENSIVE due to a massive Warp drive for the use of warping and just being built in general

    · EXPENSIVE due to multiple gravity generators

    · EXPENSIVE due to the use of air and fuel in such a large area, maybe turning of the air kills the traders on board causing hostile actions.

    · If multiple gravity generators, these could also be the build area forcing the station to not be oversized for no reason.

    · Enemy factions hate these and love to attack them often.

    · Traders on stations that go from friend to foe actively try to destroy the Space Station via attacking generators, Air tanks, the Core, etc.

    · Can’t move, yes as in it should only warp from star to star but actual thrusters are a no go. This way there is a clear difference between the use of a CV and Space Station.

    · Possible asteroids can hit it and hurt the shields

    · Building and Modifications to a Space Station is in Space only.


    Just an idea I hope I explained better than just “Me want space home”
