Hi, I can't really post a formal report on this, as it's the save that's the issue, so, no evidence. Rather, I'd like to ask here if anyone else has experienced this... Playing the current Live version of the game, with the Reforged Eden Scenario. Basically, while playing a Single Player scenario, I made a backup save via the disc icon. This backup save was made at 21:54 my time. I made this save cos I was just about to try something silly to see what would happen. Anyway, I did the silly thing, was amused by it, then exited the game to restore the backup save I'd made. At this time it was 21:55 and I could see the backup folder time stamped 21:54. I deleted my actual save and copied the backup, renaming it to appear as the regular save. I've done this many times when just playing around. I go back in-game and load that minute old backup save, only to find myself no where near where I actually was. I'm in orbit whereas I was down on the planet when I created the backups. I then realise I'm around an entirely different planet as well as in a different system! Basically, the backup made one minute ago (timestamp confirms) is actually from significantly earlier during this evening's play session. I've not had issues with the file backup in Empyrion for a very long time. I simply create a backup, do something silly for a laugh, then restore from the backup and continue playing. This time it's failed really quite badly! Has anyone else seen this in recent times? I'm running the Reforged Eden Scenario - so not vanilla - but I don't think a scenario could break the game's backup like this.
Can't say I've ever had that happen to me, and I use Reforged Eden also (like everyone else does I assume...hehe)
Not sure if it helps but when I see weird problems with saves and backups I go and delete the cache folders of those saves also and try again
It's a first for me too. Can you remind me where these cache folders are please? I do clear out older backups from the main save folder, and back up the last save of every sessions to a network drive, but that's it.
