Here's an approach for doing a random start- pick an SV with warp capability and write down a fairly long list of single name sectors from any of your current games.

Create a fresh game with a random seed, enter the game with an escape pod start and while you're falling enable the item menu (im) and spawn blueprint (sbp) ... add the following to your inventory-
    • pentaxid (12)
    • promethium fuel cell (4)
    • oxygen (4)
    • light armor (1)
    • survival rations (2)
Once you hit the ground go to console and disable im. Now sbp in your SV .. I picked the Core Jumpship. If you want more of a challenge create your own variation with damage, missing engines, etc.

Jump into the ship and pick a sector name from your list. Try going there with the "sector <sectorName>" command- if it doesn't work just grab another name until you get a hit. With random seeds these systems will never look the same or be in the same place.

There won't be any air ... get that O2 and power thrown in quick. You've only got one or two jumps and ~20 minutes before the tank runs dry. Figure out where you want to go and get there quick. Try not to die. 8^)

Just tried this out and it was a hoot.

(I'm going to try throwing together a warp damage mod that implements "a damaged warp drive takes additional damage equivalent to distance jumped (AU or LY) with every jump" ... this could be used to blow the drive pod right after the first hop.)
