For your information, Space Life Online is now updated with an ultra-hard BarrenMetal starter planet. This is a move to meet the demand of hardcore PvE players.
There is also a high gravity planet in our part of the universe And I let a new banner be designed for Space Life Online.
Space Life Online Version 4 goes live on Thursday the 9th of May, main server is wiped and updated to v4 during the evening. - Mass & Volume enabled - Ship Store, players can now buy spaceships at the Dhalus Space Station. - Voting Rewards, players get a little reward for voting. - Centralized Starting Point, players all start in the same location at the Space Council HQ and choose starter planet from there. - Improved Tutorial - #server-info-and-settings available in game. - Teleporter System between the main starter planets except the hardcore ones, Omicron as a teleporter location is new. - Vastly improved challenge, rebalanced loot distribution, and loot chances increase with the difficulty of the planet - Starter planets no longer have more than T1 POIs, no Abandoned POIs and fewer wrecks and ruins. - The already existing difficulty zones of the sector are further defined and apparent. - The global setting for NPC difficulty reduced to medium. - Starters Kralos and Akua have become easier. - Ultra-Hard Starter Metan has become more balanced and is more doable. - Temperate Medium Starter Tallodar has been made more different from Akua, increased difficulty and it has a Patrol Vessel. - Arid Medium-High Starter Omicron now has 2 drone bases and 2 Patrol Vessels. - Planet Sienna and its moon are back - Emeroon is now Polaris home planet and the drone base, drones and patrol vessel are all Polaris. - Emeroon has Polaris unique POIs where they actually have defences and a loot chance. - Two new instances, 'Archives' and 'Propulsion Lab'. - Multiple new mission chains. - Troop Transports are back on the server - Physical Auto-Miners replaced with virtual ones, all to increase the challenge the game offers and T2 and T3 resources cannot be mined with them. - T2 and T3 resources are defended by POIs. - Portable Constructor can craft only the most basic things. - Large Constructor has some templates it cannot craft, all high-end products.
Just a reminder that we wiped our server last Thursday and now we are running an updated scenario with an improved challenge.
Space Life Online V4 running A10 Experimental With the release of A10 Experimental Space Life Online is running its Test Server using the new patch. Search for Space Life Online Test Server in the in-game server browser. We run the server with Mass and Volume and the server is running our latest scenario version 4.
Main Server of Space Life Online has been updated to A10 and with our new v4.5. Welcome in. There is much to read in https://spacelife.online/forum/showthread.php?tid=35&pid=175#pid175 about what is new. Highlight of news: - Death Penalty, we have a mod which does give a consequence of dying, you lose xp when you die. - Better distribution of resources depending on planet difficulty
Using this new ad to attract new players: Space Life Online Advertisement Tired of easy-mode? Does the game become boring quickly? Don't you want a building simulator? Come join us at Space Life Online PvE server with a much harder than vanilla gameplay. Progression to game over isn't done overnight, and not even the next week, and the server actually has a game with hurdles to overcome and not a building simulation. We believe that progression is what makes the game and the "grind" (effort) is what is actually a game instead of sim. - Selection of multiple starter planets with varying difficulty levels - The Aliens have been beefed up and provide a better challenge - Starter planets don't have rare stuff - Resources and loot scale with difficulty - The Aliens protect deposits - Salvaging doesn't give you everything you need - Weight and Volume on - No Auto-Miners - Portable Constructor less powerful - Dying gives a penalty You can be a newer player but expect the game to provide a challenge, we have tutorials and easier starter planets too, but we're not silent about the server being hard overall. Teaming up when you aren't experienced might be advisable, but it is multiplayer after all. We want to prolong the gaming experience with what we have in our hands. Want to know more? Greetings from the Space Life Online owner, News We now have a mod which allows players to salvage their old bases and structures and regain the resources they were made of. Space Life Online is a challenging PvE server where there is no risk of easy mode.
Just wanted to add a "micro" review/comment. I have been playing solo on this server for a little over a week. I have several years and hundreds of hours playtime experience and yet I am glad to say that I have found something new and fresh on the server. There are very few servers that have unique specific play mechanics that make for a different game. Most are variations on vanilla with different poi's. Space life has a specific niche, that utilises a control on resource availability in its core universe design, to produce a challenge on progression to even very experienced players. This challenge to your character development is further heightened by a innovative approach to character death and respawn. You loose xp and even levels when you die. Suddenly you look at each poi differently, if you die 5 times this could cost you hours of game time on levelling. It makes you think and plan, which is great! Then there are planets which are designed with very high difficulty and risk but which contain the best and rarest loot. No matter how many hours playtime you have, the high level planets will test you. I am enjoying playing this solo, but i think there is enough challenge to make a co cooperative play with friends very worthwhile indeed. This is (so far) the best pure PVE only server I have played on. Primary due to it providing a different game play to other servers. (I would love to see a pure pvp server that builds a unique gameplay in a similar way, which too would provide a different original experience, which I have posted before about!) There are other servers which I also rate and recommend highly, all for there own uniqueness and originality, which is great for the EGS community in general. Thanks for providing this game play experience
W/V has to be enabled, so long as it's carefully implemented with config changes, @Bigfeet - especially on a PvE only server that's trying to be a challenge. This looks like a worthwhile experience, will have to give it a go! @SacredGlade 's opinion is one I've always respected and it'll be fun to play alongside him again
Hello, Now it is time for version 5 with several improvements compared to the previous version, it went live on the Friday, the 27 of September. We had planned to wipe when Alpha 11 comes, but due to it coming later than expected we end v.4.5 here for a fresh new version. Now A10.5 is running far more stable too. Some highlights: - Akua is renamed Ymber and will no longer have base attacks, and is also reverted to easy as difficulty setting - The Invincible Drone Bases are replaced by destructible Drone Bases - Planet Vessels have normal alien core and are hence fully destructible (previously only turrets and it was possible to bring it down but it was very buggy) - Camps will make up most of easy starter POIs, to make the server more accessible to everyone - All basic ore deposits on planets are now guarded by camps - Basic ore asteroids in space are guarded by orbital defense POIs - A dozen or more new custom POIs - Plant seeds require special reagents - Most T2 and some advanced weapons cannot be crafted Plus several other nice changes including a cinematic intro instance and added a new 'Welcome Room' to complement the Space Council HQ arrival point. Welcome in to try it all out. You can trust us that we do all we can to offer you a challenging PvE server while the base game might not always offer you that.
Alpha 11 Information New with A11 is that we run the server with CPU on. Long-term goal is for the CPU feature to replace the hard cap on device counts on the vessels and through this soft cap allow for more strategically built ships for various purposes and playstyles. There are a lot of people critical to CPU, but lots of servers already have max size class limits on their servers and this is just another way to implement a limitation to the sizes of the ships. Size limitations may be required in a game which contains PvE game challenges, and after all this game is more than a building simulator.
