A steam pre order would be great. Other than easy access. It also increases player base to add more funds towards development.
*Unofficial Post* Personally I think some developers "jump the gun" far too early by putting their games up for pre-order on Steam before they really even have a rough idea of when they'll actually be able to release. I think the way Eleon currently has it set up where you can pre-order and/or donate to the development right on their website is a good way to do it for now, but I do agree that once you get to where you know you can release within a month or two, obviously barring any unforeseeable delays, that moving to also having the Steam pre-order option is also something that should seriously be taken into consideration. I've seen some really good games get slammed with negative reviews the second they've released simply with complaints that it took too long since the game was put on pre-order and when it was released so I'm sure things like that are definitely part of the overall discussion and decision on when to release a full pre-order, etc. Honestly, I do think this is a discussion that needs to happen internally with the devs and actually this is something that I'll bring up at the next meeting, I just won't be able to report back on anything discussed obviously. And just as an added disclaimer: NO, nothing in this post is in anyway an indication on the level of development of the game, a potential release date, etc. this is just my own personal opinion on when releasing for pre-orders on steam and other such services should be done.
