I had a thought today and decided to share because I felt it would make an interesting game mechanic. If you core a BA and leave it alone (do not install your own core), have a chance that a faction will discover it and take possession. I can easily see the pirates taking over a BA if they found it just sitting there. So put your own core that BA you just conquered, or you might find new residents when you finally decide to return to it. On a somewhat related note, if you take over a BA, have the previous owners send a scouting party to check and possibly take it back. I think it would be realistic to say that if the Zirax lost contact with a shipyard they would send a party to find out why. Submitted for the devs consideration.
If you take a base off the Zirax, really they should be engaging in all out war to get it back or at least deny it to you by blowing it up
