The screen shots are one patch out of date but will post anyway (it was a low priority issue). Bug still in effect because I was just in the game to check the device names for this post and saw some beams shining through (v1.4.2 3266).

Apologies if already reported; I searched but didn't find a related bug report.

    Build: v.1.4.1 3261 & 3262; v1.4.2 3266
    Mode: Survival
    Mode: Singleplayer
    Seed-ID: 43351

Reproducibility: 100% if it's sunny with sun at right angle to shine through the device to cast a shadow that can be seen from the character's POV.

    Severity: Trivial (immersion-breaking)
    Type: Global

Summary/Description: Sun shines through certain solid devices.

Objects affected: CV Thruster S, CV Thruster Enclosed M, CV Thruster Regular L, CV Pulse Laser Turret (retractable).

Patch of light and shadow of the Shutter Window L grate that was installed on the exhaust (exterior) end of a Thruster S.

Exterior view of same thruster (exhaust end).

    Bank of Enclosed M thrusters.

    Regular L thruster.

Pulse Laser Turret (retractable). Character is standing in an enclosed area that really should be pitch-black even in daylight (but isn't).

Got beams of light whether the Shutter Windows were installed or not. Confirmed it was the sun because the shadow moved as the sun moved (or rather as the planet rotated ;)

It's a trivial immersion breaking thing but since I do try to make my thruster installations "maintenance accessible" from inside the ship (role-playing) it's slightly irking to have shafts of light appearing where they shouldn't :)
