While using the Resource gathering sub mode of the survival tool at night in a dark place like digging in a cave or underground, the ambient light produced by the beam is so bright it becomes difficult if not impossible to see what you are excavating or the surrounding area. The beam brightness doesn't seem to be an issues just the radiant light the pulsates around the beam, both its brightness and the size of the radiant light.
