So when you use the difficulties you get back digit values like 0,1 and so on. So does 0 pertain to easy? 1 is normal, 2 is hard?

I don't know, but I need to know this too for the app I'm writing.

If you don't have an answer by the time I get home I'll post my settings and the difficulty data and we can compare notes. Hopefully you post yours as well.

the section in the yaml that controls playfield difficulty is annotated thusly:

Playfield difficulty (has impact on experience gains)
Difficulty: 4 # Between 2 and 5: larger values indicate higher difficulty

it might not be exactly what the telnet returns, but it might be close.
