I did a search for "stairs" and I saw that there was mention of this in one thread regarding 4g planets and stairs, but I didn't see a thread dedicated to this.

Recently I realized that 45 degree stairs on CV's are extremely unforgiving. If the ship is tilted slightly upward to make the stairs slightly higher than 45 degrees relative to gravity, the character cannot climb them. In my particular ship, there isn't room for the 26.6 degree stairs, and regardless, the 45 degree stairs need to be more functional anyway.

It seems as if the threshold for climbing is almost exactly 45 degrees. I think this should be increased to something more like 60 to help with this.

Yeah I basically don't use those stairs anywhere because of that problem, I always stick to the 2 block long stairs or just use an elevator.

    Makes sense.

Unfortunately I have to use the 45 degree stairs for this particular CV. An elevator would fix the issue of course, but for reasons that may be obvious when I post my blueprints, I just can't use an elevator here.
