So on the left, two large constructors as we can make them. On the right, something I 'looted' and placed... very odd little thing.
The right is an old model large constructor, you used to be able to make the constructor on the right as opposed to the one on the left. *edit for grammar*
The big one does have a conveyor door. Actually, so does the 'tiny' one from SV/HV. Coming from SE, when I first saw those doors, I was like... ok, now how do I hook this up to a cargo bin to make this work right... lol.
Ya I was hoping for a type of transporter (teleporter) device to move items from the mines to base then to constructors. In the constructor just select the container with the ores you need or have it select it automatically. Less like SE the better. Besides conveyors are so old world.
Yea if it makes you happy I think they went off the conveyor idea and are going to use the hull, like they do now, and a sort of auto conveyor system where anything attached to the hull is effectively a part of the conveyor system. This is much less CPU use this way. SE use a conveyor system straight out of a minecraft mod, identical in almost every way, its not a new system, and like MC, SE if everyone loads up weapons and stuff via conveyors, and 4 people on a server fight in ships all the conveyors start moving ammo from voxel to voxel and you have lag creeping in very fast. Empyrion developers are very focused on keeping Empyrions performance up, I think they have learnt from SE's mistakes and realize what it could cost them, KEEN are just starting to realize that. Took 3 years but nevermind. The constructor was made large to make building CV's harder and because its more realistic. I like the big constructor but I know many dont. The small one just looks like an SE styled one, a constructor is a machine that constructs things, the little one would not be capable of assembling anything big, like a large thruster !
Yes it makes me happy lol. The very large constructor maybe wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so plain. The old one had what looked like lights and wires and such.
It certainly does present some more challenges. I'm generally fine with the 2x2x2 large constructor. One should NOT be able to pull a giant block out of of a tiny hole but, I digress... considering how huge the warp core is hahahaha. Although I wonder why the 'advanced constructor' isnt like a 2x2x 3 size to make it a bit bigger due to its advancedness in ability to sub-process.
Ya the weird thinking is right up there with carrying a complete CV in your backpack complete with warp core.
We cou We could use a little of that on the ward drive and constructor. Lol Interest how this game calls on technology when it's convenient for the poster.
I STILL think the Advanced Constructor should not be wasting that remaining empty space in its Hitbox & put something useful there, like a dedicated Ore Smelter that could perform that function independent of the rest of the Machine potentially crafting Components/Devices... I made a Suggestion for that long ago, but alas, it didn't seem to take off.
