Okay, the Mallard CV is now public on the workshop. Here's what it looks like parked on the display.

I created it originally because a base does not include spotlights. I realize their in game purpose for HV, SV and CVs, but why can't a base have a spotlight or two too. I realize some have rigged up some HV blueprints for this purpose, spotlights on a pole essentially. Some of them even look great too. But this display was always built to have the CV parked there behind the signs, including some combat steel reinforcement where the bumpers (landing gear) on the front of the CV may impact during landing. Most of this look was decided long ago when I built the base, but it was the interior of the CV that was bothering me. In the end I decided that other than the initial view into the hangar that the interior of the CV didn't need to be as bright and bold as the outside.

I think I have come to a decision on the Goose CV. Not the first and not the second option. Instead I am going with option number three. Taking some of the alteration in option two and taking a step further. Dropping the whole idea of adding extra small HV docking to keep things simple, consistent with option one.

The original is in the middle. Option two is to the left. I like it, but I really didn't want to solve the matter of a safe area through engineering. It would have meant a loss of much to do so. Mostly, I really liked how the the "nacelles" didn't look quite so much as something from Star Trek. Option three is on the right, and I just took those side pods and made them resemble something from my Sparrow SV (not on the workshop yet).

    A8 FTB Creative_2018-08-06_10-03-05.png

Option three also has 50% more fuel tanks than the first. Happiness!

    A8 FTB Creative_2018-08-06_11-25-53.png

When I went inside, I decided to make a few mods there too. In this case, I actually put in glass wall to separate medical from the rest of the vessel. In the back of medical is the door to engineering. Originally this was just a hallway with medical devices lining the sides. I think it looks better with a door and glass.

    A8 FTB Creative_2018-08-06_11-24-57.png

With the warp drive on the ceiling, central engineering is mostly safe until you get close to the gravity generator or warp drive fuel tank.

    A8 FTB Creative_2018-08-06_11-24-00.png

The real challenge remaining is how to create the "service" areas for the interior of the large engine pods on each side. I did divide engineering into three sections for O2 purposes so that a breach of one section doesn't necessarily mean all of engineering ends up exposed to vacuum.

Dreams about "unlimited Power"... remains Dreams for the time being as long as we don't get different Turrets/ guns enclosed in Armour

The Imperial Gun Tower XX 9 - The First of some experimental Turrets, the top should be able to hold 3x3 Guns but also 5x5. Currently non of them fits:(

still pretty small, 1/3rd below "real" size

Today I finished remodeling the Sunken Tank POI. In the process I found that the game supports the 2560X1080 resolution of my newest monitor (34" wide). I was amazed at how nice this res fits the game. I was running a 40" 4K UHD TV as a monitor before this. It was a bit too much real estate. This one's excessive without being OP. :D Here's a screen cap to give you an idea:

I liked this Res on my 27" very much until I found out that it was the reason, in my case, for a mayor FPS drop. The Native Res of my Laptop is 1920x1080 and the ext Monitor 2560x1440. Had to reduce the Res of my External Mon to that of the Laptop to get FPS in the 60-70:(,
    Nice work btw

Thank you! I doubly appreciate it because I don't build much. The tanks are a neat feature and I was craving some relief from the wide open spaces of the arid p.

2nd Dream...finding out the limitations of gun turret rotation and elevation..that is so FRUSTRATING...even in WWII the Canons could elevate to almost 90° (Flak 18, 88mm)

WWI Lewis Machine Gun AA mount. The first improvised AA guns mounted a heavy mg on a wagon wheel so that they could get the elevation. This is mount was a later development.

Thanks for the input.. Our current Gun models have, I think, a max elevation of about 60°.
Therefore I have to place such guns in the four main directions to actually have a chance to cover all arcs...and not even than! *sigh*

Its allways frustating if I have a certain structure in mind and then I get blocked by the limitations of the available material...very sad.:(
As so many pointed out allready there are several block types missing - the so-called "missing links" between slopes.

Made a shiny new SV, the FA-005 Hunter
Warp-capable, pressurized, cheap, plenty of internal space and has passenger seats.

I just wish you could get some of the CV/BA deco in SVs. Especially the beds.

I logged out last night all was well.

I just logged in and it seems my new boat has tried to.. fly away during the night.

It did show me however that I have forgot to put black paint on the underside haha.

EDIT: For the record that vessel is docked !

This is because almost everything in the game is designed around being placed on an empty, flat surface. No allowance for integration or 3D design potential.

Today in Empyrion I got my @$$ shot clean off while attacking the Temple POI. It had three cannons, I had six Gatlings. I fought the law and the law won. :D
It wasn't too bad. I took out the last cannon just as my cockpit evaporated so I only fell a couple of meters. Sentry guns, dogs and Zs inside - no problem. The problem was having to do the ride of shame back to my BA on the bike. I crafted a new cockpit and fuel tank for the SV at the base and then rode back and made the repairs.

Why do we fall? To learn how to pick ourselves up! - questioning yourself
You never gave up on me? Never! - sentence of the SV and your answer

Nicely put indeed! Yes, I replaced the cockpit and fuel tank then used the multitool to reinflate everything else. I built the SV in-game so it's crude but easily repaired. :D
